Excellent dinner, we recommend the place

We were planning to eat outdoors but people took more time than usual to make available so we ended eating upstairs

Traditional Italian restaurant, with delicious food and drinks! The Chef really knows his stuff, everything we ate or drank was very tasty and delicious! Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends, because the service and the treatment we received left something to be desired! It's true that we arrived at this place a little tipsy after a long day, not freshly ironed, like the local Italians. We were lucky because we arrived before the evening rush and we immediately got a place on the terrace, although not the best table, but we were still able to let go of it. They didn't let us sit in the better places, saying that they were taken, but as it turned out they weren't! We felt right at the time of ordering that we were being rushed, which is the death of me personally! This makes me crazy!!!! After we had finished our dinner, they brought the bill, without us even asking! They didn't even ask if they could serve us a nice coffee or some sweets and how we would like to pay our bill! Of course we didn't pay immediately, as they would have liked, I think we didn't consider our dinner finished yet! Of course, the line outside started to gather, the locals came, I think the regulars too, and these people had to wait for a free table! When we were well fed and the Prosecco bottle was empty, we asked for the bill and thought about paying by card! I should mention here that the place is not expensive, so everything is absolutely affordable. Well, another disappointment followed, because a heated argument broke out between us and the paying waiter about how much extra tip we should pay! Of course, nothing, because you don't deserve it!!!! The bill included a fixed service charge of €9/s, which is more than enough! Especially here!!!! When we said goodbye, the owner of the place even came out to let us know that as tourists we would have expected to be treated like the locals!!! The discrimination is infuriating and outrageous!!!! If we ever visit Sorrento again, I think we will skip this restaurant!

A very good restaurant, excellent service, super friendly and helpful. Perhaps too many tables, which made things a bit cramped, but other than that, nothing to complain about. We had dinner and ordered a pizza, a caprese, and a fried fish dish. All very good. I recommend it.

During our four-hour drive to Sorrento, we were greeted at the L'Abate restaurant with exceptional kindness and attention, especially toward my disabled child. A server showed genuine sensitivity, offering my son a free drink and then a coffee for me, simply out of kindness. These simple yet humane gestures reflect a true sense of welcome and respect. Thank you to the entire team for this warmth, which deeply touched us and will be remembered for a long time to come.

Torniamo sempre da anni in questo ristorante e devo dire che quest anno qualcosina è cambiato… partiamo dall accoglienza : il cameriere scontroso e antipatico che ti risponde scocciato e annoiato dicendoti che all esterno non c’è posto solo interno e ci sta nulla da dire ma il modo è l atteggiamento scontroso non ci sta … un plauso a Giuseppe che ci ha servito all interno .. gentile e cordiale
