What happened?
I've been going to La Zanzara for years, it's one of my favorite places. I've been there twice in the last eight months and I've found it to be a different place, not so much in terms of aesthetics; apart from the fireplace, everything is almost as beautiful as before. However, I've found the menu and service to have slipped. The quality is still good, but the dishes no longer have the same refinement and attention to detail as before. It's as if something is missing, the same goes for the service. The criticism is meant to be constructive, as I think it's a shame if a place like this loses the prestige that has distinguished it for years.
Beautiful evening. Expectations were always met. La Zanzara is worth the trip to this splendid location. The raw ingredients are ALWAYS excellent and perfectly cooked, with the utmost respect for the product. Excellent service, very attentive, never intrusive, and very professional.
The atmosphere is always refined and welcoming. The new decor, in my opinion, is beautiful, warm, and modern. The idea of the bookshelf in the fireplace is also lovely, although the charm of a lit fireplace in the winter will be missed.

The restaurant is located on a small island among the reeds and is reached via a romantic little bridge.
The interior is welcoming and meticulously designed.
The menu offers no extravagance for its own sake, but focuses entirely on the excellence of the ingredients and the chef's supreme skill.
The extremely friendly staff explains the various dishes and expertly recommends wine pairings.
It was a satisfying experience and one I will definitely repeat.
The appetizer with raw fish was excellent, the fried food was good, the first course wasn't great, the eel was too greasy.
From my point of view, the cuisine was a bit disappointing.
