La Vecchia Terrazza In Ostuni

It occurred to me that I had eaten at this restaurant on four occasions and hadn't posted a review. Perhaps this was down to the fact that a decent restaurant in Ostuni is a rarity, (so many being aimed at the tourist who would never return anyway) that perhaps, subconsciously, I was keen to keep this place as my little secret! However, that's scarcely fair is it? Anyway, in simple terms, it's a great place and an honest restaurant serving excellent food (and with a decent wine list as well). I have also looked at the criticisms of the place and would have to disagree. Obviously people can make mistakes and things can go wrong. Yes, the tables are a bit close together and you have to book early to get a position alongside the view ... but really, what's the big deal. At heart you have a couple trying hard to offer good food at a perfectly acceptable price and long may this continue. I will be back and I'm already looking forward to it.

Una joya de un restaurante con una vista preciosa, tomamos una maravillosa clase de cocina donde hicimos la pasta de orecchiette regional. Los propietarios Alfonso y Adrianna son cálidos y amables, y fueron muy pacientes con nuestras habilidades tanto para hacer pasta y postre. Nos hicieron sentir como en familia e hicieron que la clase de cocina fuera muy divertida. Las salsas de pasta de Alfonso eran ligeras, llenas de rico sabor a tomate y bellamente presentadas. Recomiendo encarecidamente la clase de cocina y el restaurante.

The e-mail communication during the booking process was very nice and fast. The location is a comfortable walk from new part of the city centre. The view of the white city is fantastic! The service and the kindness of the staff is outstanding! I loved the wine selection, the local white wines are excellent. All the appetizers - especially the red tuna tartare - were delicious! Not on the menu, but the seasonal truffle pasta was simply the best! Compared to these, the seafood (swordfish, octopus) so out of season was not really impressive. The octopus was a bit chewy and the fish was dry. I think if these can't be prepared at a similar level to the other dishes, they should be left off the menu. End of the day, we would still happily return and my rating is on the borderline of 4-5 stars. But I gave 5 stars ;)

Brilliant . What a location , beautiful, unique view of the gorgeous town on the hill. Restaurant ….. interior and exterior..lovely surroundings and decor , very Italian . Service , warm and friendly and very efficient. Food …. Superb , Italian cuisine and reasonably priced . Cheap considering the quality of the food ie 5* food for the price of 3* 😊

I had dinner last night in this splendid restaurant and I will definitely return to taste other dishes. Clean, quiet and private environment. Really great service, I had a great time. The dishes were truly spectacular, I wanted to be a "slipper" for everyone. The girl in the dining room was very kind (as was the waiter) in giving us advice, especially on wine. Excellent price quality. See you next time!!!!

This restaurant is a gem, we stayed in Ostuni for 10 days and ate out every evening, mostly average food in the area but La Vecchia Terrazza was by far and above all the best. You must try their food, a small husband and wife team produce some of the best food I’ve had in years. PS, the price is also very reasonable.

Fabulous! We only wish we had found this fantastic restaurant earlier in our stay. Food is amazing so much so we came twice in 3 days. Within our 10 day stay and eating out every evening, this is by far the best restaurant. Service excellent, very friendly and extremely affordable for the quality of the food, it’s exceptional, can not recommend enough. A must if you’re visiting Ostuni!

We were there twice. Once at the beginning of our vacation week and a second time on our last evening in Ostuni. The food was very good both times. The service was very friendly both times. The second time, however, the service was very slow because some tables ordered very individually and did not know their way around Italian food and eating habits . This caused a lot of extra work for the service staff and the capacity came to a limit. On the one hand, we understand this, but on the other hand, it should not happen that the service is so slow for the other guests. However, the view is very nice, the food is well prepared. Under normal circumstances, the service is exactly how you want it to be.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and offers vety good food and a friendly service. 😊…the prices are fair.
