La Vecchia Osteria In Lecce

The restaurant itself is quite a pleasant place — warm lighting, comfortable seating, and an atmosphere that suggests you’re in for a good meal. I ordered the parmigiana, and I have to say it truly stood out. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and it felt like a dish made with real care. The service, on the other hand, left a bit to be desired. While everything was efficient enough, the staff came across as somewhat distant, which took away from the otherwise welcoming setting. My wife ordered the ceceri tria dish, and unfortunately it didn’t make much of an impression. It wasn’t bad, just rather ordinary and lacking the depth or creativity we had hoped for. Overall, the experience was fine — not terrible, not amazing — just okay.

Excellent value for money, nicely decorated room and fast service

I really wanted some soup. They offered me vegetable soup. Of course, there were a lot of chickpeas and not enough broth, but it was delicious. That's the most important thing. However... The presentation was beautiful. A clay pot. BUT! They serve it boiling hot! When it arrived, it was bubbling and steaming. It doesn't cool down in the clay! We were really hungry and in a hurry, but it was impossible to cool! We even had to add a little water (ice cold; they brought it and poured it without even asking whether it was from the refrigerator or not). And for some reason they don't bring salt or pepper; you have to ask. Overall, my impressions were mixed. The good thing is that they were open at 3:00 PM, so we were still able to eat.

Excellent seafood appetizer, the second seafood course was octopus and cuttlefish, a little tough, fast, precise and attentive service, good price/quality ratio.

Very cozy place, with nice staff. We got the food quickly and it was very delicious. I recommend it to everyone!

The pasta being the specialty of Lecce was very good, with good cheese with that, the prices of the pasta plates are reasonable, I recommend!

The terrace is a bit noisy, but the service is friendly, fast, and efficient, even when there's a mistake. Average price/quantity ratio depending on the dish, and the chickpea pasta soup is very cost-effective. Reservations are recommended if there are more than four of you. A good place to eat without wasting your time or being disappointed.

A welcoming and warm place, we sat near the fireplace enjoying a Five Roses with linguine with sea urchins. The waiter was polite and discreet, a typical trattoria for locals and tourists alike.
