La Vecchia Lira In Volterra

Tutto buonissimo, non c’è che dire! La tartare freschissima e genuina, il condimento era a parte in modo da far apprezzare il gusto della carne. Ottima anche la carne cotta. Poi ho provato per la prima volta l’aglione e devo dire che mi è piaciuto molto! Personale molto gentile. Ambiente verace, da trattoria. Buonissimi anche i dolci e prezzi nella media.

We were certainly enticed by the excellent reviews, and I can only confirm the good things already written in previous comments. We had a starter, first courses, second courses and desserts, and all of them were excellent. Sublime pici all'aglione. Courtesy and speed in bringing the dishes. What can I say, excellent.

Familiar, well-kept environment. Kind and thoughtful.. very nice. Excellent Tuscan style hospitality. The kitchen also offers a fish menu, but you can't help but eat the typical things of this beautiful land. Thank you very much, I sincerely recommend it.

Excellent typical Tuscan cuisine, a place recommended and frequented by the residents of Volterra.

I came here on a Saturday evening (11/9/2024) as a solo diner, and La Vecchia Lira made my dinner such a special experience. With a reservation, I was seated immediately, and the food was prompt, fresh, and tasty. I had the duck pasta (fettuccine di pasta fresca agli spinaci con ragù bianco di anatra), steak with bacon and caramelized onions (tagliata di Chianina I.G.P., pancetta locale Tarese del Valdarno e cipolle caramellate), and the chocolate cake with limoncello cream (torta al cioccolato con panna di limoncello)--all great dishes. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant and cozy; it was very nice to be surrounded by locals. What truly elevated my dinner from satisfactory to wonderful were the owner and staff at La Vecchia Lira. Not only were they patient with my limited Italian and helpful in making selections for a delicious meal, they made me feel extremely warm and welcomed. La Vecchia Lira is an experience worth having if you visit Volterra! Grazie a tutto lo staff e soprattutto al titolare per un bellissimo ricordo! Penserò a voi quando mi metto la maglietta!

Locale nel centro di Volterra, pulito ma spartano. A parte l’attesa per sedersi nonostante la prenotazione per il mancato rispetto degli orari di prenotazione, e’ da apprezzare la gentilezza e cordialità del titolare. Una buona e varia offerta di piatti. Buona la zuppa che abbiamo mangiato. Nel complesso e’ stato un buon pranzo ed il prezzo pagato e’ stato onesto e corretto
