It's an old house in the floodplain, renovated but retaining its original appearance. You eat excellent cured meats with your hands, drink wine from a bowl, and sit on wicker chairs. It offers three traditional first courses, carefully prepared with top-quality ingredients, and two pork second courses. Local wines are served. I only have one photo with my friends, so I can't add it.

A day trip with friends and a stop for lunch at "Vecchia Baracca." Andrea, the owner, and his staff made us relive the excitement of a real family lunch with excellent local products. Everything was delicious, from appetizer to dessert. The wine in a cup, like in the old days, was a great idea. We'll definitely be back.

We had lunch with friends during the November Porc. The location was beautiful and quaint. Service was prompt despite the crowd. The food was traditional and all good. I'm not giving it full marks because they had a fixed menu for €55, which is quite a lot for a rustic place. There were many courses, but not enough. It was pouring rain that day, so we arrived early and had an aperitivo outside. Out of seven people, four had a glass of the wine included in the menu, and three had a glass of Franciacorta. This brought the bill up to €11 per person... it seems a bit high. In any case, I absolutely recommend this place, and it's worth trying on a normal day.

A historic location on the other side of the Argine, very close to the legendary Po River, the very friendly and explosive owner Andrea, also a SuperChef, will let you try all the delicacies that only the Pig King can offer.

Osteria Vecchia Baracca has the rare distinction of being authentic without trying too hard. Nestled in the quiet of the Polesine area of Parma, this already prepares the palate.
The cured meats are the calling card—full-bodied, authentic, with an unforgettable flavor. The cuisine follows the same line: local dishes prepared as they should be, without frills. The food is good because the ingredients are good, period.
The service is sincere, the dining room has that country-house feel that immediately puts you at ease, and the result is an experience that takes you back to things done properly.
In short: if you want authentic flavors, you're on home soil here.

I'm not one to eat out very often, but I've had my experiences. I was brought by friends and tried their specialties. I have to say it's one of the places where I've eaten best. It's perhaps a little pricey, but considering the quality of the food, that's understandable.
