We happened upon it on our way back from vacation and found a place to eat outdoors, where the friendliness and deliciousness of the food are a hallmark! The appetizer is strictly eaten with your hands, and the wine is poured into bowls... just like in the old days... So if you're ever in the area, I highly recommend it!

Delightful atmosphere. Rustic and simple, just like the old days. You eat without cutlery and on a paper tablecloth, with wine served in a bowl and top-quality ingredients. If you want to rediscover the flavors of the past, this is the place. The staff is helpful and very kind. An experience worth trying!

Excellent food (unbeatable cold cuts), sublime service (always present, never intrusive), fantastic atmosphere. Booked on Saturday evening for Sunday lunch for two, very helpful staff. Fair prices.

Having found it online, we decided to visit this typical restaurant on the banks of the Po River. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted very kindly and were told about the traditional cuisine we would be sampling. From the cured meats, eaten together and with your hands as tradition dictates, to the first and second courses, strictly without side dishes, as tradition dictates, everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. After the cured meats and first courses, we were already stuffed, but we still tried the ribs, truly excellent, and a selection of desserts, all washed down with the local wine, also known as "the Coca-Cola of the lowlands" for its slightly sweet flavor and easy drinking due to its low alcohol content, which is traditionally drunk in bowls. In conclusion, we left with full bellies but without feeling heavy, which is rare, and having paid a fair price, so I'd say we were more than satisfied. Highly recommended.

accattivante,bello e caretteristico il locale interno,con possibilita' di acquistare prodotti locali. simpatico e molto accogliente il gestore.spiega in modo chiaro e non prolisso il menu' e la filosofia del locale.abbiamo pranzato all'esterno,nel gazebo,affacciato al prato ben curato.eravamo in tre: ordinato antipasto di salume misto per 2 (dietro consiglio dell'oste) e abbiamo faticato a finirlo,ottimo ed abbondante.eccezionale il guanciale al vino rosso: anche questo in porzioni generose che non siamo riusciti ad arrivare in fondo.poco male,l'oste,gentilmente,gli "avanzi" li ha inscatolati per poterli portare a casa per cena. concludendo:locale da consigliare e in cui tornero' quanto prima.

Sono sta in questo locale il 26/02/2025 con un carissimo amico.. Il sito, le foto, lo stesso Tripadvisor… non rendono onore alla qualità dei prodotti e alla piacevolezza del servizio proposti da questa struttura…. Bravi tutti… Ogni volta che riesco ad andare penso già alla volta successiva che riuscirò a ritagliarmi del tempo per la vecchia baracca …. Ovviamente è un pensiero personale, tuttavia è quanto vivo in questo locale. Ciao Andrea
