This is a nice spot up and away from the tourist crush in the historic center of Florence. A taxi from Piazza Santa Maria Novella today was €13.70 but the bust to Piazzale Michelangelo would have been a fraction of that. Being Good Friday, we started with the swordfish carpaccio that was delicious along with the octopus and potato salad that was equally tasty. We both enjoyed the taglierini with agrumi sauce, as we have on prior visits. Finally, the pistachio cake was soft and quite tasty. We always enjoy this place for lunch. Afterwards we walked to San Miniato al Monte and then back to Piazza SMN. What an afternoon. If you’d like a break from the city AND good Sicilian-influenced food, this is the place.
