There are many lovely restaurants in Montalcino. La Taverna di Baietto is one of them. The food and wine were excellent.
We especially liked the young, friendly team.
The pistachio pasta was amazing!

One of the best porchetta sandwiches I have ever had. They grill it so the bread is crunchy and some of the porchetta is grilled too so it’s like bacon.

In the center of Montalcino, reservations recommended.
An excellent little restaurant offering various wine tastings and a wide variety of charcuterie boards.
If you prefer to order a bottle to accompany your meal, you can choose from the wine shop right in front of the restaurant.

Located on one of Montalcino's main streets, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
A wide variety of wines and even gin (over 400). I tried some crostoni, good cured meats, and pecorino cheese, but the best, in my opinion, was the crostoni with pecorino cheese and fresh salami paste.
The restaurant also offers first and second courses, but I didn't try them because I needed a quick lunch.
The crostoni are good, but you need a couple to be full. The price is €8-€9 per crostoni.
A glass of excellent wine is €5.50.
The staff's kindness and friendliness deserves special mention.

Di passaggio a Montalcino cerchiamo un posto dove mangiare e ci incuriosisce il menù esposto di questo locale, scegliamo un antipasto GRAN BAIETTO, buono ma forse un po' esagerato nel prezzo 35,00€ anche se i prodotti erano buoni non è proprio un prezzo leggero. I primi deludenti, i pici al tartufo completamente insapori il riso allo zafferano secco e asciutto da non riuscire a finirlo. Esperienza sicuramente non esaltante
