We initially only noticed the initially inconspicuous restaurant on a side street in the port of Palau when we were walking past. One of the owners greeted us friendly as we passed. So we decided to go there another day. We haven't regretted the decision. We were greeted warmly again and seated in the small outdoor area. After a short conversation, it became clear that, in addition to Italian and English, German was also spoken relatively well here. There was a lot of fun with the children. Two very good wines were recommended and served to us. The menu is clear and, like many restaurants in Palau, promises authentic Sardinian cuisine. After a reasonable wait we received our food. In addition to scorpion fish, sea bream and squid, we also ordered a fillet steak and another meat dish as well as a children's dish. The taste of the children's dish was very well tailored to the taste of a child. (Not too fruity tomato sauce) All other dishes were puristically prepared. The freshness of the products was amazing. It was also an experience in terms of taste. Just honest Mediterranean food. If I could give more stars for the food, I would happily do so. For me it was the best restaurant we visited in Palau. Thanks to Mario and Piero for the really nice hospitality and the excellent food.

People always like to go to the Tavern, but this year the famous squid ink risotto was not the usual one, without glue, badly stirred, very liquid. The price is very high considering the location and the service. Always good for some dinner in the summer
