Octopus sandwich 10€ - very good meaty&soft octopus with smoked stracciatella for extra 1€,but I felt like it was still missing something in terms of flavor/ingredient in order to be even better.
I was able to sit in one of the outside table and enjoy it with a cold Peroni(been there end of August 24').

Unique experience! In a location with a rustic and familiar flavour, you can enjoy extremely fresh fish cooked impeccably, according to the best Bari tradition. The truly exceptional service: Nicola is able to satisfy every need even before the customer can express it. The strong points are certainly the service and the exceptional quality of the dishes. The quality/price ratio is satisfactory.

We came to la Tana del Polpo 4 times in 5 days! I think this really says how much we liked this place. We had the best polpo we’ve ever had (we tried the Tris di Polpo) and also had pasta and the fish in the oven and everything was delicious! Besides the food, we really loved the service as well and you can tell that the place is run by people who do this with passion. The couple that own the place were super friendly and also the waiters! We had really nice conversations and laughs with all of them and will definitely come back in our next visit to Bari❤️ thank you for the amazing food and nice time with all of you!

This place is small and super full! It is not possible to book a table in advance so you are forced to physically take turns in front of the door. The place is made up of four different rooms, two of which are really small! The food was excellent and plentiful. We spent almost 200 euros in 4 (2 starters, 3 first courses, 2 sorbets, 1 coffee and half a liter of white wine). The kindness and friendliness of Nicola, our waiter, who served us with friendliness and good humor, certainly made the difference. Excellent food, high prices but in the center of old Bari. HH

Mi ha attirato il nome appena arrivati nella città di Bari. All'ora di pranzo ho proposto questo locale agli amici e devo dire che è stata una ottima scelta. La frittura ottima con il polpo.

Situato a Bari la tana del polpo è un buon locale per mangiare del buon pesce.
Abbiamo preso una degustazione di polpo (4 cotture dell’animale) che si è rivelato molto buono, ma a lungo andare pesante. La pasta al pesto di pistacchio e gamberi non era invece buona (non ci siamo).
La freschezza del polpo e il suo gusto li fanno però meritare comunque 3 stelle.
