Passing through Lagonegro I had dinner in this restaurant which was undoubtedly a pleasant surprise: Unusual, good and well-prepared dishes very kind staff excellent value for money.

Restaurant recommended to me by my B&B owner. My family and I had dinner with typical dishes. The very kind waiter was also very nice with the children. At the end they offered us some divine cantucci and a superb fennel bitters. What can I say top restaurant.

I review live while waiting to be served, I feel like Cannavacciuolo in Cucine da Incubo...I stop at the evaluation of the service: 6 well-dressed waiters, 5 of whom are young and do nothing, the older one takes the orders, brings the drinks and serves the dishes (few of them I've seen come out until now)…review follows at the end of the meal if it ever comes….We've arrived at the café! In summary on food, fish main courses should absolutely be avoided. Defrosted product, of low quality and unpresentable cooking. Tuna, swordfish, prawns are from NAS inspection. Even the meat dishes didn't excite me. I recommend this place only for the first courses that are more than adequate and their digestive based on wild fennel

A place located in a street just below the main square of Lagonegro, a 2-minute walk downhill. The menu is simple, with a few meat and fish dishes, but some are really good! I highly recommend trying: - Miskiglio with beans, bacon and pecorino (they are scialatielli made with a mix of durum wheat flours and legumes) really good!! - Paccheri with crunchy sausage, crusco pepper and crunchy bread, fantastic! We also had some grilled vegetables with grilled pecorino and a water (various local cured meats and cheeses). We spent €34. The service is done with kindness and courtesy, furthermore the dishes are plentiful and very good! 😉 P. S. It's the third year I've been back and the quality of the dishes, the professionalism of the service and the cheapness of the bill is always the same! 😉 Advised

It was a pleasant surprise, excellent service and excellent cuisine. Absolutely worth a try if you're in the area. The chestnut and bean soup in particular is a truly successful dish. The house bitters are remarkable.

Dishes are good. What makes them better is the spicy sauce in the house! It’s so amazing and I even asked for sell it to me 😍 Life is short. If you like spicy pastes, this is the place to stop by.

Bellissima scoperta a Lagonegro, ottimo ristorante, cibo squisito e personale molto gentile e disponibile. Il titolare poi è una persona molto simpatica. Assolutamente consigliato!

Scoperto grazie a the fork qsto ristorante a 1 km uscita Lagonegro ci ha accolti uno staff simpaticissimo che ci ha consigliato tutti prodotti tipici lucani buoni e di qualità , sicuramente diventerà una tappa obbligatoria ogni qualvolta scenderemo o saliremo dalla Calabria

01/07/2024: Excellent restaurant, at the foot of the Pollino in Basilicata. I recommend the tasting menu to be able to savor the many dishes created by the chef-philosopher-patron FEDERICO VALICENTI. The appetizers are very delicious (the Cruschi peppers cooked well: crunchy and not burnt... coming from a Calabrian who married a Lucanian 35 years ago😁). The 9 INGREDIENT CAKE is remarkable... ingredients that I will never remember. Two tastings of first courses (perhaps I would have liked them more abundant... considering my passion for pasta). And two tastings of tender and tasty meat... Watch out for the CHEF 🤣... after each course he approaches to explain: the name of the dish, the ingredients and the PHILOSOPHY that led him to create that particular dish... yes, because "CREATION" is deals with. What to say? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... I celebrated my wedding anniversary there this June 1st... and it was worth it (a few little curves to get there😁🤣😁). 30/06/2024: Non è un semplice ristorante, è un'esperienza culturale più ampia, in ogni piatto Federico Valicenti ci mette una storia e ogni storia ha il suo piatto. Preso in un'occasione il suo menù degustazione (€40) di "cucina dialettale", una cucina di gusto ma ancor di più di pensiero, indispensabile per affacciarsi sul suo piccolo, grande mondo antico, in una seconda visita nella settimana di permanenza sul Pollino abbiamo scelto alla carta: menzione per il "grattonato", che veniva servito come antipasto ai matrimoni d'antan qui a Terranova, una trippa di ovino con fegato&cuore in un buon brodo di manzo, con cacio&uovo non rappresi (e qui sta l'abilità del cuoco); la "rahatana", una grande arancia fritta con dentro carne di maiale, cruschi, vincotto e cannella, di gran impatto scenico. Si pranza anche sulla terrazza, bella balconata sulla valle verde, con sguardo che spazia dalla Timpa di San Lorenzo alla Serra di Crispo, creste dolci, rassicuranti. Lo chef ti accompagna nel percorso, e questo è il grande valore aggiunto, imperdibile.
