Friends and I met for lunch at this old trattoria (hence the name "Storica") in the village of Asso, which itself offers nothing touristy. This was a transit town whose road was an axis that crossed the Larian Triangle, before the Valassina was built. From the 1920s to the 1940s, Asso was the finish line of the Coppa del Lario circuit race, a race that has now faded over the years and perhaps even from the memory of many locals. Enough of the historical notes... Today, people go to Asso only to sample the dishes of "Storica," a family-run trattoria where the quality of the ingredients is paramount, a fundamental aspect today for those who want a quality trattoria or restaurant without having to look for a Michelin-starred establishment. The search for "quality" products is left to Angelo, who diligently searches for cured meats, cheeses, meat, and poultry every week. She grows the vegetables herself in her own garden. Well, what can I say except that raw materials reign supreme. In the kitchen, Chef Nicoletta transforms the ingredients, turning her love for cooking into a tool for palates who appreciate well-crafted traditional dishes, revisiting them slightly with a more modern twist, without compromising the essence of tradition and the quality of the ingredients used. The desserts, entirely homemade, as befits all good cuisine, are rigorously made by Angelo, and here a lunch that began well and ended beautifully concludes on a high note. The wine cellar is meticulously curated, and the selection of lesser-known but high-quality labels complements the food. The dining room service, coordinated by Angelo and Susi, is impeccable. This is my second visit to this place, and I fully confirm my excellent impression. A welcoming atmosphere, friendly, helpful, and professional staff, and truly delicious dishes. The welcome drink and the sweet treats at the end were much appreciated. A place where you feel good and want to return.

The prices are worth the quality!! The place is a bit vintage and retro, but very welcoming, especially because it's not too big. The staff is friendly, kind, and helpful, even when it comes to presenting the dishes. The appetizer is highly recommended because it's plentiful and high-quality. I highly recommend it for a dinner with friends or as a couple. I got lost admiring the details of the Storica.

Simply incredible. This is one of the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Every product was top quality and unbelievably good! And oh man the panna cotta was the best dessert I’ve had in my life. The staff was super nice too! This is my new reference for italian food, 100% worth the detour.
