La Smorfia In Merano

We had a casual dinner with pizza and beer. Bufalina and Capricciosa BBQ. Excellent quality ingredients and careful and precise cooking in an open wood-fired oven. The attentive and courteous staff, led by the enthusiastic Dalila, were attentive. The atmosphere was a bit too casual, but decidedly tidy, clean, and quiet. Recommended.

Modernly furnished pizzeria in the heart of Merano.

La Smorfia Merano is a fantastic restaurant. With its modern decor and creative menu, it was a highlight for me twice during my vacation in the area. I found a recommendation for it on a Pinterest blog and can only agree that you get your money's worth here at a reasonable price.

Good Neapolitan style pizza, well-managed multi-ethnic staff

We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of my Airbnb host, and we were sadly disappointed. The best thing about the pizza was the crust. The Margherita pizza was watery to mushy in the middle. The tuna pizza had barely any tuna topping, and the Summer Creation pizza was unfortunately barely edible due to its strange ingredients. (We were a little to blame for choosing such a pizza, but our curiosity was piqued.) All the pizzas lacked seasoning but were overloaded with cheese. It's a shame we made the extra trip to try an authentic pizza. The restaurant itself was modern, stylish, and well-attended. I'm a bit surprised why there are so many 5-star reviews. Maybe the pizza chef was having a bad day, and we were just unlucky...

The pizzas are Neapolitan style (very thin dough, thick, very airy crust, pizza only baked for a short time - not to be compared to standard pizzas!) We found the pizzas here very tasty 🥰

Excellent Neapolitan pizza, rich and well-topped. The staff is friendly, fast, and attentive. The place is spacious, clean, and has a refreshing atmosphere.
