La Reserve In Bordighera

12/08/2024 - 1.00 pm - Lunch - The location of La Reserve in Bordighera is truly beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the sea which makes the atmosphere very suggestive. However, there are some "buts" to consider. The food is good, but I expected something more from the fusilli with calamari: the sauce didn't bond well enough with the pasta, leaving the dish a little disappointing. The stuffed anchovies were tasty, but another small problem arose when we wanted to pair them with a side dish. There are no side dishes on the menu, and they charged us a rather high cost to get something off the menu. In general, prices are high, but given the location, it is almost understandable. Another not too positive note concerns the young waitress who served us. She was serious (too much…) and quite professional, but unfortunately not very kind, which dampened the experience a bit. In summary, La Reserve is recommended for the view, with good food and acceptable service, but there is room for improvement, especially in terms of value for money and courtesy of the staff.

4 aperitifs, only 1 spritz requested with a little ice... they brought them all in half!!! (Otherwise the 8 or 12€ wouldn't make up for it with the liquids used???) If it weren't for the view... too bad....

Our favourite place in Bordighera! Come here for the beach beds and amazing rock swimming and snorkeling. Food in the bistro is good for a light bite for lunch.
