Cantine dei Papi is almost certainly a tourist den, as you'll hardly ever find any locals there. But that doesn't matter to us at all, and we enjoy every single time we sit down here in the hot weather, ordering one bottle of wine after another and simply feasting. The wines are of the highest quality, and the prices are more than reasonable. One of our favorite places in Rome! Update 3 years later: still great!!!!

A long, pleasant lunch with friends. The atmosphere was rustic, like that of a true shop, with fast, friendly service. We shared several rounds of platters and bruschetta, which were very generous and made with quality ingredients. Excellent selection of reasonably priced wines, and truly good value. The only flaw: there were no desserts, but it was mid-August, so it's understandable. Highly recommended!

If you like a "picas y picas" dinner, this is your place. The cheese and cold cuts board costs €12 per person. A bottle of wine is around €20.
A small and cozy place.

HOLY MOLY IT IS THE BEST SANDWHICH AND BOARD IVE EVER EATEN FOR SUCH CHEAP PRICES! This was my last meal in rome/my whole europe trip before leaving and oh my gosh the sandwich was so good I miss it right now! My mom ordered a board which came in such quantity that she barely finished it, but it was sooo authentic and fresh and delicious! space was a small and hot for the summer but it is the BEST PLACE EVER FOR SANDWICHES AJD I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
