A beautiful, tiny restaurant where you can truly experience Italy, with photos of Pope Francis, and an elderly gentleman who serves the tables alone with equal parts calmness and kindness. Wonderful! We'll definitely be back!

Mario is truly a pleasant person, as sweet as a father.
The food and service are excellent and very fast.
I highly recommend him because his simplicity and sweetness make the customer feel at home.

I highly recommend this restaurant, with its family atmosphere, run by the extremely kind and courteous owner Mario. The cuisine is truly Roman, especially the pizza, which is excellent, strictly Roman. I also recommend the carbonara, amatriciana, and many other dishes.

Excellent
Roman cuisine
Very good pizza, classic Roman, very thin
Exceptional artichokes
Tonnarelli cacio e pepe, carbonara, lamb chops, everything excellent
I'll definitely be back. The price is right, 30-40 euros.

There are places you don't discover with maps, but with the weariness of a traveler. La Pilota da Mario is one of them. You don't enter a restaurant; you enter a parenthesis. A space where time slows down and life sits down at the table without haste.
Mario doesn't receive customers; he receives moments. His kindness isn't a strategy or a profession; it's a vocation. He's like those people who appear on your path unannounced, accompany you for a short while, and yet leave a mark. They don't promise to stay forever, but while they're here, they fill you up.
The food arrives like good memories: quietly, but profoundly. Each dish is a gesture, a way of saying, "You're here, and that's enough." And you understand then that not everything that matters needs to last. There are encounters that weren't meant to be eternal, but complete.
That's how some people are. That's how some places are. They don't stay, but they sustain us. They don't return, but they nourish us. And when they leave, they don't leave a void, but a quiet fullness, like the last sip of wine before rising from the table.
Because there are tables that are unique, hosts that are unforgettable, and brief moments that—without asking permission—become enough.

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! We’re visiting from the United States and somehow found ourselves coming back to Ristorante La Pilotta Pizzeria every single day while in Rome. The food was absolutely fantastic and never disappointed. The bruschetta was hands-down one of the best we’ve ever had — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.
The service was just as amazing as the food. The staff was welcoming, kind, and made us feel like regulars from day one. This place truly felt like a home base during our trip. If you’re in Rome and want incredible food with great service, this spot is a must. We already can’t wait to come back! 🇮🇹🍕✨
