La Perla del Mare In

Everything was truly perfect. The service, location, and food! The black garlic and shellfish linguine were fantastic, as was the "sea pearl" dessert! For me, these were the best dishes I've ever eaten! The dishes are meticulously crafted, both in their presentation and in the combination of the various ingredients. Delicate and refined flavors.

I returned once again with my boyfriend for dinner at this wonderful restaurant. I've been familiar with the cuisine for a while, but each time I discover new dishes suited to the season. It's always lovely to return to La Perla. Besides the delicious food, the atmosphere is very romantic, and the service is commendable, particularly the attentive service. It's now our favorite restaurant.

I've been going to La Perla for several years. The food quality and preparation are truly top-notch. Over the years, portions have shrunk and prices have risen. This is happening in many restaurants. Especially the fritto misto, which, at about €30 a plate, is truly disappointing. What I really didn't like this last time, however, were two incidents. 1. When we arrived, the chair on the veranda was dirty—I imagine that can happen outdoors—but the waiter just stood there and watched me while I swapped seats for one at a nearby table. 2. For dessert, the waiter recommended two glasses of Passito without even mentioning that they cost €12 a glass; I don't see this as a question of price, but of transparency. For a €368 dinner for three (and my son had a plate of pasta with tomato sauce), the service was a bit "homey"—I would have preferred not to hear the waiter chattering about football at the next table, having to raise my voice to talk to my wife. The waitress who recommended wines was very unkempt, with a wrinkled shirt and very messy hair. It's not a Michelin-starred price, but it's starting to feel expensive, and I would have expected better quality. Location and food alone aren't enough to make the difference.

A simply perfect evening for my birthday. Thanks to my partner, who traveled 300 km to give me an experience in this little corner of paradise that is La Perla del Mare. For the occasion, we dined at the only exclusive table right on the beach, with a marvelous view of the sea. The soft lighting, the sound of the waves, and the romantic atmosphere created a magic that's hard to describe. We ate wonderfully: every dish was meticulously prepared with the highest-quality ingredients. The dessert, in particular, was the perfect conclusion: a caramelized millefeuille with vanilla ice cream and red berries, simply swooning. A special thanks also goes to the staff: impeccable, kind, professional, and always attentive. I will never forget this evening. ❤️

La Perla del Mare is certainly the top restaurant in San Vincenzo, at least from their perspective, and only partly from mine. For years, it has stood for the highest culinary standards. However, this legacy, these standards, and this self-image must be constantly nurtured and critically examined. The reservation process on-site was efficient, but the welcome was disappointingly superficial, even though the table we were given was exceptional. Here, La Perla del Mare joins the ranks of restaurants that consider themselves "top" and carelessly disregard the "respect and warmth" of this important moment. During the service, we only partially felt "interesting" to the waiter and the center of attention. The fact that we had to ask for oil, salt, and pepper ourselves after the first course arrived underscores this. The quality and selection of dishes are very good, but we had expected more inspiration and something truly special. Superb atmosphere and hospitality. But then it ends there. Saturday lunch. (The menu changes in the evening, and the service too?) The waiting staff is over-professional, and the kitchen is clearly struggling: a long wait, even for desserts: ready, and the room is now empty. A long wait for the first course, because of the cacciucco, they later told us. But you have to let them know. No greeting from the kitchen. Maybe we would have ordered something more while we waited. To wait for a dish that resembles cacciucco only in price (€40 each). No tomato, no spices or herbs, drowned in a long, dull, bland sauce. Fresh fish, and even some of the finest quality: but isn't cacciucco a poor man's dish? Like all traditional dishes. (What does the red prawn (third size) have to do with Livorno?)

Very good... it's not a big deal to have eaten too much when the quality is so high. Excellent value for money in such a beautiful setting. We'll definitely be back for the à la carte menu, which is less demanding than the tasting menu of six dishes, plus any that can be added on the chef's whim. All these dishes in who knows how long... wrong. Perfect timing, without taking too long as often happens. The dessert was amazing after all the excellent dishes. Thank you.
