We found this small restaurant completely by chance, which seems rather inconspicuous at first. There is a small dining room where meals are served. We decided on a panini, which we ordered directly at the counter. The two owners were absolutely authentic and warm and gave us some sausages to try - absolutely delicious! The food is all regional and of the highest quality.
We had a panini with salami, pecorino and eggplant. Certainly not cheap, but worth every cent!

In giro per la fantastica Pienza, come non ritornare dalla Pecora nera, osteria e gastronomia. Ragazzi capiamoci bene e’ un enoteca, gastronomia. Posti limitati se non erro solo un tavolo da 6 un tavolo da 4 e uno da 2, ma noi avevamo prenotato. I proprietari sono marito e moglie, la moglie molto simpatica, accogliente e divertente, il marito può dare l’impressione di uno burbero, ma alla fine è una persona squisita. Veniamo al cibo, non vi aspettate tagliatelle, ravioli, gnocchi, pici e quant’altro perché non li fa, la Pecora nera nasce come gastronomia, di primi piatti de non erro fa solo la palla al pomodoro e la lasagna, il suo punto di forza sono i taglieri con salumi e formaggi del luogo accompagnati da varie marmellate. Che bontà 😋 . 1 tagliere per 1 persona ci mangiano in 2, da consigliare anche i crostoni, noi anche se era estate ci siamo fatti fare 2 cocci di fonduta di pecorino con guanciale (paradisiaco a dir poco), poi la carne ottima, io e la mia moglie ci siamo fatti fare due maialini mbriachi (la carne si scioglieva in bocca), e per la figlia una Peposa (anche quella molto buona). Il prezzo sulla media, anzi la Signora ci ha tolto l’acqua. Che dire, da ritornare

Around the fantastic Pienza, how can you not return to the Pecora nera, tavern and gastronomy. Guys, let's understand each other well, it's a wine shop and delicatessen. Limited places if I'm not mistaken only a table of 6, a table of 4 and a table of 2, but we had booked. The owners are husband and wife, the wife is very nice, welcoming and fun, the husband can give the impression of a grumpy person, but in the end he is an exquisite person. Let's get to the food, don't expect tagliatelle, ravioli, gnocchi, pici and anything else because it doesn't make them, Pecora nera was born as a gastronomy, first courses, I'm not mistaken, only make tomato ball and lasagna, its mainstay the strengths are the platters with local cured meats and cheeses accompanied by various jams. How delicious 😋 . 1 platter for 1 person can be eaten by 2, the croutons are also recommended, even though it was summer we had 2 pieces of pecorino fondue made with bacon (paradise to say the least), then the excellent meat, my wife and I we had two mbriachi pigs made (the meat melted in the mouth), and a Peposa for the daughter (also very good). The price is average, or rather the Lady took away our water. What can I say, to return

Sono stato a pranzo in questo locale da solo. Il posto è veramente piccolo e incastonato tra le viuzze di Pienza. I prezzi a prima vista potrebbero sembrare alti, ma la qualità è altissima e la quantità abbondante. Io ho ordinato un bicchiere di nobile di Montepulciano e un tagliere di salumi e formaggi, costo 25 euro scontato a 22 euro. Il vino era ottimo, ma i salumi e formaggi andavano oltre qualsiasi aspettativa. Prodotti di qualità eccelsa, tagliati a mano, molto abbondanti (un assalto al colesterolo!). Consigliatissimo. Peccato non aver preso altro, ma da solo era impossibile. Oste simpatica e super disponibile.

Lovely restaurant managed by a lovely old couple.
We were hungry when we arrived, it was just opened. We were served nicely even we could speak only a few Italian and the cook could speak only a little English. We had no issue to order the drink and foods we needed.
The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. The bruschetta with truffle and cheese is so good! We love it a lot! Lasagna and gnocchi are typical and tasty.
We were so full when asking for the check. The cook made fun of us when we left 2 potato balls. We ate them all like we are their kids we have to finish the dishes, lol.
We had a good time there, definitely recommend friends and family.

Having passed by randomly attracted by the idea of a takeaway focaccia for lunch, the place was a pleasant surprise. Very generous stuffed focaccias, quality local products and very friendly owners. Price in line with the proposed offer, honest compared to the tourist cut of the Val d'Orcia. The eco packaging was also appreciated.
