La Passerella In Varenna

The ice cream is good, and that’s the highlight. The service itself is polite, but we noticed the staff often seemed frustrated because many customers don’t realize that you need to pay first and then order the ice cream. This process isn’t very clear. Moving the cashier closer to the entrance or placing a more visible ‘pay first’ sign could really help; most customers naturally focus on the ice cream display, so the current sign above the freezer is easy to miss. We didn’t experience any bad treatment, but the frustration was noticeable. A small adjustment like this could improve the experience for both customers and staff.

Gelateria La Passerella has become a tradition for us—every time we visit Lake Como, we make sure to stop here. The gelato is consistently delicious, with a smooth texture and rich flavor, and they offer a great variety to choose from. Highly recommended! There are so many good flavours and they were all tasty. It was really good. ! A week later, I still crave for this.

My wife and I loved this gelato spot! All flavors we tried were delicious, but we especially loved the fruit flavors (the limone was pure bliss). Highly recommend if you’re looking for classic, flavorful, and refreshing Italian gelato!! We went 4 times while in Varenna.

Very good gelato, and not outrageously priced for being as close as it is to Lake Como. Can get very busy.

I came in this afternoon and had the blueberry cheesecake and dark chocolate gelato. Both were amazing! Fabulous, fun, helpful staff!
