La Movida dei Pescatori In Trieste

We discovered this place by chance on a friend's recommendation and were blown away. Fresh fish and generous portions. As true Southerners, we loved the combination of food and flavors. The service was excellent and very friendly. The owner, Eda, was fantastic, welcoming and pampering us.

Simply fabulous. It's difficult to find a table without booking well in advance, for obvious reasons: the food is excellent, the house specials are expertly prepared, and the prices are perhaps the best in the province, better than in Slovenia and Croatia, with the difference that here the home-cooked quality of Italian cuisine really shines through. The place is rustic and simple, unpretentious. A must-visit, especially for lunches or dinners with family or friends.

I'd gladly return, perhaps hoping for a few more inches between the tables 😉 I visited this place with a group of friends (there were eight of us) and overall the experience was really positive. Ambience: simple and welcoming, with a lovely family atmosphere, although I must point out that the tables are very close together. This makes it a bit difficult for waiters to pass by and, at times, even for conversation between diners. Nothing dramatic, but certainly room for improvement. Very good service: attentive, helpful, and above all knowledgeable. I particularly appreciated the way we handled food intolerances. A friend of ours with celiac disease and other restrictions was treated with great care and professionalism, without making her feel "different" from the others. That's not a given, and they do it really well here. And then the food... simply exceptional. Carefully crafted, flavorful dishes with a distinct identity. Above all, I can't help but mention the creamed cod meatballs with curry sauce: probably the dish I'll remember the most. They were so good I didn't even have time to photograph them 😄

I have no words to describe the wonder that arrived at our table. Everything was so fresh, prepared with love and imagination. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Excellent at describing all the dishes, welcoming and friendly, fast service, fresh ingredients, and typical Trieste dishes with local seafood! Not for the sophisticated...closed without notice on Sunday evenings!

We love to go to this place, each time we are in Trieste, we make sure we book a table (and one needs to do this ahead of time!) and eat here. The tagliere di pesce (different options of cold and hot starters of fish and seafood) is a must to try. Definitely recommend this place.

The restaurant, while not very large, has a welcoming and familiar atmosphere, perfect for a dinner as a couple, with friends, or with family. The fish is incredibly fresh, often carefully selected, and cooked to perfection. One of the most popular specialties is the mixed platters of hot and cold appetizers, perfect for sharing.
