I went to this restaurant for a quick lunch on December 31st. Honestly, considering the type of place with a beautiful sea view, I expected something more in terms of flavor. I can't say I had a bad meal, but the dishes I did have were unremarkable. I really enjoyed the caramelized onions with raisins and pine nuts that accompanied the fried anchovies. Everything else was absolutely average, without any particular flavor overtones. The staff who served us was friendly, attentive, and punctual. I found the price a bit high for what was on offer.

August 14, 2025 FYI: The friendly staff at La Lucciola allowed us to peacefully enjoy a delicious cappuccino with a view of the bay. THANK YOU! (The food on offer looked good, but we didn't try it.) It's right that the tables have to be set for regular beach guests before lunchtime. Please note that the facilities (showers, changing rooms, sunbeds, and umbrellas) are reserved for part of the holiday season.

On September 9th, we had lunch with nine people. The food was truly delicious, well-cooked, and the service was excellent. The wait staff was attentive. Oddly enough, and I'd say very fortunately, perhaps due to bad weather forecasts, we had the restaurant all to ourselves (a rare occurrence). Thank you.

Honestly, I expected better food. My husband's fried food was almost non-existent, the other dishes were nothing special. We took red wine, which we like, but the glass wasn't changed from white to red. Honestly, considering what they charge, I was disappointed.

Nice location, with a romantic view on the little harbor of Castiglioncello. Regarding food, the dishes miss the balance of flavors: good quality ingredients are not enough. A piece of advice: put local olive oil on the table, not labels from south of Italy! Overpriced

The quality of the ingredients is excellent, and the portions are more than generous. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always available to recommend the best dishes of the day. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, perfect for a quiet dinner or a special occasion. We'll definitely be back, highly recommended!
27/01/2026: I had the pleasure of having lunch at the Macchinera restaurant last Sunday to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday, and it was a truly delightful experience. The restaurant, despite its simplicity, is very welcoming. The dishes are not only high-quality but also plentiful, and the first courses feature a truly rich seafood selection. The staff is also very friendly and always ready to accommodate guests' needs. I also really liked the table layout (there were just over 20 of us, and we were able to chat among ourselves; there were no other people in the dining room). Among the dishes, the prosciutto crudo as a first appetizer deserves a special mention, which I absolutely loved, even though I'm not a big fan of raw fish. Finally, I also found the price to be fair and appropriate for the amount consumed. We'll be back!
