We found this inn by chance, looking for a convenient place to stay for visiting Campo Imperatore and the Gran Sasso by motorcycle. Upon arrival, my wife and I were a little disappointed when we saw the place from the outside, but we dropped off our bags and set off. When we returned that evening, we found a simple but beautifully renovated room. The welcome was excellent, the room with bathroom was clean and very tidy, and the bathroom was perfect. The dinner, what can I say? Wonderful, with excellent house wine. I definitely recommend it.

My family and I stayed at this inn for three nights to cool off from the sweltering August heat. I must say we had a wonderful time, from the clean and well-appointed rooms (large, comfortable bathroom) to the truly generous breakfast (a variety of fresh, high-quality cakes, all excellent). We even stayed for dinner one evening, and the dishes were beautifully presented and, most importantly, delicious. Excellent value. The location is excellent for visiting the Gran Sasso, Campo Imperatore, and the various charming villages. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, from the owner to all the employees. If you want to nitpick, our room was quite warm when we arrived due to its high location (having booked at the last minute, it was in the attic), but I must say that the room has a small air conditioner that, with a little time, manages to cool it completely. We will definitely be back! Recommended!

Locanda di Mariella is a place where you feel welcomed. The owner is exceptionally kind, always available to offer information and advice. The breakfast is truly generous, with homemade cakes that alone are worth waking up to. In an area where the signal isn't always strong, the presence of Wi-Fi is a significant plus. The location is excellent: close to L'Aquila and a perfect starting point for the Piano Imperatore. However, there are a few aspects that, if addressed, would make your stay even better: eliminating the musty smell in the bathroom, paying more attention to cleanliness (long hairs on the floor aren't a good sign), replacing the slightly worn bedspread, and removing the mold from the shower joints. Furthermore, the cooking smell that wafts up the stairs to the rooms could be mitigated with a few changes. Overall, warm hospitality in a strategic location, which with a few targeted interventions could really make a difference.

The inn is located near the main road. Our room was in the attic, which was very hot during the day, but in the evenings, with everything wide open, it quickly cooled down. The room was air-conditioned. The breakfast was adequate, and the à la carte dinner featured good local dishes and generous portions.

Siamo stati in questa locanda una notte per un we a l’Aquila. La locanda di trova in un paesello situato a una quindicina di minuti di auto dall’Aquila. Si trova a due passi dalla piazza del paese, in una posizione tranquillissima e anche questo è il suo punto di forza, l’ideale per un break dí assoluto riposo. Le camere sono davvero molto molto belle, spaziose e pulite. Buona la colazione e personale gentilissimo. C’è la possibilità di cenare nel loro ristorante che è davvero molto molto carino. Consigliato!
