La locanda dei duchi In Andria

I've been frequenting Locanda dei Duchi for years and have known it practically forever. My father has known the owner for a very long time, and this has made the inn a familiar place for me since I was little: I've even been there to celebrate New Year's Eve several times. Over the past ten years, however, I've returned especially in the summer, drawn by the outdoor tables that offer a spectacular view, all the way to Castel del Monte. The restaurant is immersed in nature, quiet and rustic, perfectly integrated into the Alta Murgia National Park. You immediately feel the tranquility of the Apulian countryside, and the atmosphere is authentic and welcoming. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful, ready to make every visit a pleasant one. The true strength of Locanda dei Duchi is the cuisine: rustic, authentic, and flavorful. From the appetizers, including focaccia and typical dishes, to the pizzas, always excellent and accompanied by the house wine, every dish reflects the authentic flavors of Apulian tradition. I return every year and will continue to return, because it's a place that combines tradition, nature, and authentic flavors, with a familiar and welcoming atmosphere that stays in your heart. We arrived at lunch time, the place was closed at this time of the year (open on weekends only), but Joseppe was so kind and welcomed us in, he prepared for us his amazing focccia and more delicious food!!! And the wine was fantastic…Don’t miss this authentic Italian restaurant if you are in the area❤️

Great place. Stopped by and we where a little early. Non the less they gave us a table and served very good food.

One of the most fun experiences of my life. The focaccia was spectacular, but the way the staff managed the tables was the real highlight: "What is this?" -> "what if?" 🤣🤣 Extremely long wait times, but fun guaranteed, good food.

I'd give 5 stars only for the atmosphere, because sometimes there are businesses that truly thrive on their location. Unfortunately, this time I was very disappointed with the service and the food. Very, very poor. Basically ONE PIECE of each dish per person (1 slice of mortadella, 1 slice of eggplant, 1 slice of zucchini, 1 mushroom). Then we also asked for dessert (after paying 25 euros each), and a person serving the table very politely replied: Hey, ma'am, if I bring you dessert, I'll have to bring you the other bill!!!

A large open-air trattoria, very popular in these last days of summer. People come here with family or friends to share succulent antipasti, pizzas and the unmissable focaccia, not to mention the grilled meats. We finish with a lemon sorbetto. Nothing pretentious, fast service, everything is good. Excellent value for money.

Rarely has a place impressed me as positively as this restaurant. Situated in an enchanting location, overlooking Castel del Monte, we dined under a pergola that gave the setting a poetic touch. The food was exquisite (the focaccia was simply delicious). The staff was polite and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back soon.

I often return when I need to pamper my soul and stomach. The focaccia is one of the best things I've ever eaten. A timeless place that smells like home!

We managed to get a table for three at short notice on Saturday evening and can't fault it. Quite the opposite: the food was the best of our entire Puglia vacation, and the staff, especially the chef, were very friendly and attentive. The prices are quite low for what you get, so we highly recommend eating there.
