La Latteria In Milano

We had one of the best casual dining experiences at La Latteria and it’s exactly the kind of place locals love and visitors are lucky to discover. It’s a small, very casual neighbourhood restaurant—one of those “if you know, you know” spots in Milan. There are only a few tables, so it’s best to arrive early and expect to wait a little for a seat. The food is simple, authentic Italian cooking done really well, with fresh ingredients and dishes that change regularly. Everything we had was delicious. If you’re looking for a relaxed, truly local dining experience in Milan, La Latteria is absolutely worth the wait.

I expected better in terms of authenticity and culinary experience. It's good, but expensive for what's on the plate and compared to some other restaurants in the area. The portions are small. The restaurant was full of tourists. It's very small, so we were quickly ushered out once we'd finished our meals.

A restaurant famous abroad. Special dish: "Spaghetti with lemon, garlic, oil, and chili pepper"... good, but I won't order again.

Overall, it was an interesting experience to visit a place frequented by locals. The atmosphere was like being at an Italian's house. I just thought they'd be more welcoming. The waiters were reluctant to speak English, tried to take our unfinished dishes away four times, and finally, the hostess made it clear it was time to leave because there was a line. We were already getting ready to leave, but I imagine many people would be upset by being shown the door. The food was tasty, but not particularly impressive. I liked the lemon pasta, but it was very greasy, and the carbonara had nothing but butter and a bit of pancetta instead of sauce. The wine and cheese were delicious. I doubt I'll come back or recommend it to friends, but I don't regret my visit. However, I doubt this place needs recommendations or tourists; judging by the reviews, they do everything they can to keep foreigners away from them.

Simple but high-quality dishes. The menu is overpriced, especially if you're there for a business lunch. The place is small, seating is limited, and it's very noisy. The friendly lady in the dining room is a real winner.
