An unforgettable evening at Grotta di Aligi
On Wednesday evening, I shared dinner with colleagues at Ristorante Grotta di Aligi in L’Aquila, and it was a truly memorable experience. A welcoming atmosphere, soft lighting, and attentive yet unobtrusive service: the perfect place to gather and enjoy.
We began with a selection of local cured meats and cheeses: fragrant, balanced, and carefully presented.
Next, a warm and enveloping chickpea, chestnut, and mushroom soup, rich in authentic flavors.
The first course, a chitarra pasta with ricotta, guanciale, and pecorino cheese, won everyone over: a perfect harmony of softness and savory flavors.
The braised veal in Montepulciano was tender and flavorful, accompanied by potatoes and sautéed chicory that complemented the dish impeccably.
And to finish, a light and delicious cream of fresh fruit, served elegantly.
Sincere thanks to Mario, the owner, for his passion for his work, and applause to the entire staff, especially the lady who welcomed us with kindness and attention. You can sense the teamwork and the desire to make every guest feel at home.
Highly recommended for those seeking a true local cuisine experience in a refined and convivial setting.

Tasty cuisine based on traditional Abruzzo cuisine. The pasta and meat dishes are excellent. Their tiramisu is remarkable. We'll definitely return.

My compagno and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here during a roadtrip in Abruzzo, which concluded with the chef, Mario, coming out to say hi to us and gifting us with more of his time after a long day of work. We learned so much about l'Aquila, papal history, the sisma, local specialties and places not to miss in the area. The restaurant's atmosphere is cool and I would have liked to have tried everything on Mario's menu, he is so knowledgable about food and culture, personal glow an unexpected regalo. These experiences make local explorations next level

If you're looking for a local aperitivo, this is the place! Superb!
Local and traditional products—small mazen, I'd call them—that bring our land to the plate, and Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo wine. Dinner is also worth it!
Friendly service and a peaceful atmosphere!

Typical Abruzzo cuisine. It was like stepping back in time to when my grandmother used to cook. The portions were adequate, not too large, and the staff were friendly.
