Nothing to complain about the cooking, unfortunately there is a big difference between the fish that is chosen and weighed and what actually arrives at the table. This was my experience, but I have had the opportunity to ascertain that it is not the only one, I do not find it correct and professional.

The interior of the restaurant is small but nice, built in a lava cave. The terrace with tables outside is also excellent. Before sitting at the table you have to go to the entrance where you choose and weigh what you want to eat. Everything is freshly prepared, so I recommend this place for the freshness of the fish. Four stars because the owner who takes orders on the phone, weighs the fish and takes the orders at the counter, when you have to pay you have to get back in line for the bill. I recommend booking because it is always full.

They accommodated us inside without a reservation which we appreciated. Most of the staff were so nice and friendly. They have this one guy who is such a douche. Other reviews refer to him as the owner and I refuse to believe that’s true, there’s no way an owner of a restaurant would act like this. He was clearly very stressed but shouldn’t take it out on customers. At one point, he spoke to me so sternly and through gritted teeth, I thought he might start shouting. Other patrons looked alarmed. We should have left at that point but it was late and we ventured all the way over there to visit this specific restaurant so we stayed. Luckily he stayed away after that (probably embarrassed that he crossed the line) and a young waiter looked after us who was so kind and attentive. We don’t speak Italian so we spoke to them in Spanish with Italian words mixed in and we communicated just fine. The food was so tasty. We had spaghetti a la sepia and frutti di mare, both dishes were delicious. We loved it. We thanked the guys behind the fish counter and in the kitchen, they are doing an amazing job. It’s a shame that one person almost ruined the entire experience. Great restaurants close every day so he should really change his attitude.

An unforgettable culinary experience, a true journey through the flavors of the sea. The freshness of the ingredients could be perceived in every bite, enhanced by exceptional culinary mastery. Chef Rosario, a friendly, smiling and very cordial person, cooked the still fresh fish caught right in front of us. The impeccable service and attention to detail made lunch even more enjoyable. A triumph of taste and authenticity, a restaurant that I recommend to all lovers of good food. An experience to be repeated for sure, to savor again the delicacies offered. A rare pearl in the gastronomic panorama. And don't forget to order a plate of spaghetti with lobster: something extraordinary. Fair prices for the quality and quantity served.

Abundant dishes and very fresh fish.

Excellent fish restaurant. Adequate service. I recommend the seafood salad and the first courses (especially the spaghetti with squid ink and sea urchins).

We were there for lunch with a group of friends in April. A big problem is certainly that of parking, especially on weekends. There is a need to book for both lunch and dinner. The place is characteristic with a natural rock wall inside (hence the name La Grotta). The waiters are very friendly and helpful. The food was good but not excellent enough to justify the high price. The pasta with prawns is good.

Definitely good. We had 3 seafood salads, spaghetti with sea urchins and spaghetti with blue lobster and sea slug, a fried dish, all accompanied by a Sicilian wine. Really good food and all fresh, from the counter to the grill directly. Really good service, helpful and friendly.
