La Galea In Amalfi

Very good pizzas and very kind and welcoming staff. Water wasn't charged when we pointed it out, and he said it's no big deal. I highly recommend it.

Simply wonderful restaurant! The best restaurant I found during my visit to the Amalfi Coast! Everything was divine, from the octopus salad to the risotto and the tiramisu dessert! If you're visiting Amalfi, this is an excellent option for lunch! The staff is incredibly friendly! A welcoming atmosphere! Everything was divine!

We stumbled upon La Galea while strolling through the streets of Amalfi, and it was a pleasant discovery. The food was excellent, the fish fresh, and the staff welcomed us warmly. At the end of the dinner, we were offered limoncello (delicious). The prices are reasonable considering it's located right in the center. We'll definitely be back.

We arrived in Amalfi and had two very good salads for lunch, one with chicken and the other with seafood and octopus.

We were seated right away, which in Amalfi maybe isn’t always the best sign, but we decided to give this place a try. From the start, none of the staff seemed particularly interested in being there, and for the first time in Italy, we felt pressured to order quickly and move along. We ordered veal scaloppine, which turned out bland and dry, a pizza that was unfortunately wet and oily, steak (which was the highlight and cooked well), pasta Bolognese (flavorful and satisfying), and a seafood pasta that at least tasted fresh. The desserts were however very good, and homemade. The food had its bright spots, but overall it wasn’t anywhere near the best meal we’ve had in Amalfi. As the night went on, the staff’s mood didn’t improve. They seemed increasingly annoyed, and even the person working behind the bar looked exceptionally grumpy, giving our kids repeated side glances, even though they were well behaved. We left feeling more unwelcome than we have anywhere else on this trip.

Even though I don't like seafood, I ate the shrimp without complaining. It's expensive, just like all of Amalfi, but you don't go there to pinch yourself for every cent. The prices are comparable to the Polish seaside or the Polish mountains.

Takeaway pizzas: they were delicious, the prices were reasonable and the welcome was very warm.

This was hands down the best restaurant we had during our trip to Italy. The pizza was chewy and delicious, and the pasta was so tasty we even ordered extra for two! 🍝 The staff were friendly and we had a great time.
