Superb place in every way, from the location to the food. We ate divinely at very reasonable prices! The only downside is that it's a bit far from my house, otherwise we'd come here every week to try every dish on your menu. Well done!

Beautiful place, very beautiful... excellent meat, we tried various dishes, all very good and tender, cooked to perfection, the only flaw was the beer not very cold... fresh but not cold... in short, if you drink it all immediately, ok, otherwise after 5 minutes it was warm.

La Frottola is an institution. For decades one of the places where you can eat and drink as a couple or in company, in a traditional but refined environment, where the ancient tavern merges with the beauty of a castle. Excellent meat and excellent beers.

After seeing the very positive reviews we decided to have dinner here. Unfortunately, it must be said that there is ONLY one vegetarian alternative (dish with vegetables, polenta and cheese) which can be made vegan on request, the rest are all meat dishes. The service is very slow (probably also due to the size of the place and the large number of seats) and the prices are quite high.

21/09/2025: From the outside, you can probably only visit it if you are a guest.
20/09/2025: Breakfast is nothing special. The room in the main fortress is authentic, but requires renovation. The hotel itself is in an impressive location, has a park, and the authenticity of the fortress has been maintained in the spacious spaces.

14/10/2025: Great classic Italian food, awesome taste, high quality ingredients, fair price. Service friendly and quick. Possibly one of the best restaurants in Pavia.
05/10/2025: We went to Trattoria Ressi a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent, from the starters to the desserts, with special attention paid to those who, like me, can't eat gluten (I even got the dessert I wanted, a delicious torta paradiso with cream). The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing, and the owners were very kind. Highly recommended.
