First time at Contea, a very nice place, excellent and friendly service.
We chose the thin-crust pizza, not my favorite; I prefer a thicker Neapolitan style one.
The bill was higher than average, but you pay for everything today.
The owner was friendly.

I'm from Rome, and every time I go up and pass by, I always find time to stop and eat at Contea di Montale. It's a wonderful place, it feels like being with family. The atmosphere and staff are always wonderful and courteous, and the food is amazing. I can't think of anything to recommend, from a simple fried egg with truffle to a pasta dish, washed down with an excellent local red wine (they have an extensive wine list). The desserts—I'm not a big fan of sweets—are exceptional. I always order the zuppa inglese. I highly recommend it.

A magnificent restaurant, exquisitely renovated and meticulously maintained. The enormous fireplace in the center of the room instantly transports you back to bygone days, when families sat together around the hearth. Quality food, fast, friendly service; suitable for groups and families. Highly recommended.

A quaint restaurant near Montale Rangone, surrounded by greenery and offering ample parking. A beautiful location, a meticulously maintained interior, and an excellent selection of traditional Modenese dishes. Friendly and helpful staff. Average value for money.
