La Colonna In Polignano a mare

My husband and I stayed in San Vito for a few nights and had the pleasure of dining at La Colonna. This is the most beautiful place to dine overlooking San Vito Bay and the Abbey. We loved having a drink at sunset there every evening watching the fisherman. The service while friendly was a little chaotic but that made us love the place even more- it felt very Italian and somehow everything just worked. The food was good, not outstanding or memorable, but the hero of the place is the setting - so tranquil and peaceful - definitely worth a visit

We returned to this wonderful restaurant after two years and are still completely satisfied. The breathtaking view alone would deserve six stars, but the food is also excellent: truly delicious dishes and very friendly staff.

Absolutely wonderful experience! I came here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, and both times everything was perfect. The location alone is unforgettable: relaxed atmosphere, right by the cliffs, overlooking the sea and the tower of San Vito. You are not only paying for good food here, but also for a beautiful setting that feels almost priceless. The food was excellent. I had the entrecôte with rucola, Grana and balsamic vinegar, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also tried the lemon and shrimp pasta, as well as the tuna, and both were fresh and beautifully prepared. One thing I would especially recommend is the baccalà polpette — fried cod fish balls, served with a mild pepperoni sauce. The combination works perfectly, and they were honestly delicious. I don’t drink alcohol myself, but the table next to us seemed very happy with the wine selection and were praising the wine pairing. The owner was welcoming, friendly and attentive, making us feel very well taken care of. Considering the quality of the food, the service, and the incredible location, the prices are more than fair. A place I will gladly return to and recommend!

I would like to thank the entire staff at La Colonna for making my daughter's First Communion an unforgettable event. Excellent food, breathtaking location, hospitality, and great professionalism. The entire staff was always kind, helpful, and attentive to every need. A special thanks goes to Mimmo, who assisted me with great expertise and professionalism throughout the organization, and to Piero, whose kindness, presence, and attention truly made this day even more special.
