La Cantinetta Ristorante In Palermo

Except for one lovely, friendly, and helpful person, we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended. The food was all very good. I recommend the pasta with lobster.

We went for dinner last night. I can't review the rooms, but the restaurant is beautiful. Inside, there are cozy blue velvet armchairs. The antique round table is beautiful. The glasses and cutlery are lovely, along with the old glassware and Art Nouveau sideboard. The owner is very welcoming. We had dinner: caponata with swordfish, delicious; spaghetti with red beetroot, exquisite; calamari with Sicilian filling; we also had side dishes and dessert. The owner recommended a wine. We were very satisfied.

A seafood dinner to remember for the quality and deliciousness of the food, thanks to the host's recommendations. He even offered us some off-menu dishes, but didn't recommend others because they didn't turn out as well as he'd hoped, or because of the provenance of some of the seafood. Worthy of note are the paccheri (or busiate, your choice) with red mullet, glasswort, and breadcrumbs, the eggplant caponata, and a roasted slice of a special fish, the Mupa (big eye), tender and delicately flavored, accompanied by a choice of side dishes. The pistachio semifreddo and the Sicilian carretto (fruit ice cream cake) were spectacular. All washed down with a bottle of Adènzia (a blend of mostly Grillo and Insolia from the Baglio del Cristo winery in Campobello di Licata), very good and perfectly suited to the dishes, recommended by the host, who is a connoisseur (after all, he started out as the manager of the eponymous wine shop across the street from the restaurant). To finish, an orange liqueur or grappa offered by the host. It's a shame I don't live in Palermo so I can come back more often!

Finally, after various experiences in Palermo, we stumbled upon La Cantinetta restaurant in Mondello. Here, there's a story of craftsmanship and sincere hospitality. Thank you, Salvo.

Located in Mondello, but off the beaten path, this restaurant offers delicious dishes, always fresh fish, and a welcoming setting. The pasta with Mazara prawns is fantastic!!! Highly recommended!

Everything was delicious and original. Fish, wine, meat, artichokes... (the only downside that evening: my portion of potatoes with rosemary was too salty). I will be back.
