You know those places that just surprise you? Located near a local parking lot, in the heart of San Casciano, and with home-style food! A tranquil, family-friendly atmosphere, and everything is in perfect harmony. The waiter who served us gave us a great recommendation, the food was delicious, and the owner loves Brazil, so he welcomed us very warmly. I highly recommend it!

It was the only place open for lunch and... thank goodness! We ate the best Steak—with a capital B!—ever, meat with a unique flavor in 2 kilos of exceptional tenderness! A typical Tuscan osteria with a very familiar and informal atmosphere, attentive and precise service, and excellent value for money.

I ate at this gem. The welcome, the food, and the staff were exceptionally attentive and warm. Mr. Giuseppe, the owner, has a charming personal and professional philosophy. Talking with him was an experience, as was immersing yourself in his dishes. You'll feel right at home, and that's what Giuseppe and his staff aim for. An unforgettable experience.

I went to Cantinetta del Nonno last night for dinner. It's a wonderful place. The service was excellent: fast, courteous, and super efficient. There's a family atmosphere. The food, like the wine, is equally excellent. I absolutely recommend it.

Saturday lunch with two friends; we were passing through. It's a small restaurant in the historic center, in the pedestrian area. The first room at the entrance has a few tables and a display counter (with cheeses, cured meats, etc., resembling a grocery store rather than a restaurant, which I like), and another room at the back with more seating. The atmosphere is pleasant but not particularly refined, romantic, etc.; it's a standard trattoria/osteria. The service, friendly and prompt, and above all the food, authentic, traditional, and well-cooked, are 5-star. We shared a plate of tripe, wild boar liver, and cannellini beans for an appetizer, followed by a 1.3kg steak, truly delicious and well-cooked, and some sautéed vegetables. It's nice that they offer a good Chianti Riserva "on consumption" (they bring a bottle and you only pay for what you drink). We spent €40 each, which is a very fair price considering the Fiorentina. We'll be back.

The legendary Cantinetta di San Casciano is a famous place for those who have followed the story of the Monster of Florence. Excellent value for money, fast service, and friendly staff and owner! If I ever visit this area again, I'll definitely be back!

A very nice, family-run place. They were super kind, delivered the food quickly, and even gave me a €7 discount on €32, which is quite a lot. What can I say? Highly recommended if you're passing through San Casciano.

28/02/2026: Excellent location halfway between Palazzo Vecchio and the Duomo. I wanted to return after eating there a few months ago, having had a good experience. A simple restaurant with a genuine atmosphere. The restaurant is small, and since it's always busy, it can feel a bit cramped, but the typical Tuscan osteria atmosphere makes it pleasant. I recommend making a reservation if you're traveling with a large group (which I did last time, when there were 18 of us). Today, since there were only three of us, we still found a table right away, even without a reservation. On both occasions, I found the food to be of high quality, and the service was attentive and fast. The service was never intended to rush you to get up, but rather to allow just the right amount of time between courses. I appreciated the attention we received when it came to the bill (which, even à la carte, is very fair and offers a remarkable quality/price ratio). I thank them publicly. It will definitely be a go-to place when I return to Florence.
