The food was unbeatable. The fish they offered was excellent, as was the tomato salad. The lemon sorbet was exquisite, and the owners were fantastic, always attentive to our requests.

Excellent local cuisine. Fresh fish cooked to perfection, exquisite salads, delicious pasta, the house white wine is just as good as a bottled one, and the service is excellent. Without a doubt, one of the best places we've eaten in Sicily; the locally sourced products grown by the owners are much appreciated. 100% recommended... a place to eat while enjoying the coast.

Four of us spontaneously got a table there during peak season without a reservation. Each of us enjoyed outstanding food at a great price.
The food was served quickly and was of very good quality.

It was a busy July evening (Sunday) for dinner at Balestrate's many restaurants. We stopped around 8:20 to order a tuna tartar appetizer, spaghetti with clams, and a grilled fish platter, which we received after more than an hour of waiting. The young waiter didn't know what else to say, and we certainly asked several times. At least the dishes were good, and after paying, we didn't ask for anything else for fear of having to wait another hour for coffee.
Advice from one restaurateur to another: when these kinds of problems happen, it's good manners to offer something or even a discount as an apology!
