Small restaurant serving typical local dishes. The owner is very friendly and approachable. Excellent burrata, delicious meatballs, and even the mutton arrosticini, but the pici al cintasenese with wild fennel are out of this world! 5 STARS WELL-DESERVED

Nice place with polite staff, the pici with breadcrumbs were very good while the one with garlic was nothing more than pasta with tomato sauce, I wouldn't recommend it.

On a recent visit to Montepulciano we stopped into La Bottega Matta, twice. The first stop was on our way from Rome. We had not yet reached our hotel and wanted to freshen up with a snack. What a lucky find! If you enjoy fresh local beer and delicious food, this spot is a must. Great staff and great beer! Pro tip, order the Cinta Senese. It's out of this world! I can't wait to come back.

A cozy and intimate place with excellent options, highly recommended! The girl at the counter is friendly and sociable. The icing on the cake? Their birramisu.

Yummy find! Great food, fab beers and lovely service. Had cut meats - of course - and some homemade paste 😋😋 my belly was happy. Paired with some craft beer. Yum!!

I prefer to call it a tavern with a beer bar, strictly craft and of course, quality. Whenever I'm in the area, I don't hesitate to stop in, with a reservation, of course, as seating is limited. The food is straightforward and fairly local, with a few slight diversions, but it's good quality and always satisfying. And then there's Silvio, the host, who certainly doesn't go unnoticed.

We were on the road and we bump into this amazing place by accident. Their meat and cheese plate is so unreal. The beer is highly recommended 👌 if you are around. It is a great place

11/11/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant because they serve gluten-free food. The dishes were delicious and plentiful. The service was very friendly and attentive to our intolerances. It might seem like a tourist restaurant, but it's truly traditional and frequented by locals. I highly recommend it. Even though I'm not celiac, I ate very well. Well done!

20/09/2025: Everything was excellent and there was passion in presenting the dishes and wines.
10/09/2025: Two young brothers took over the family restaurant, using several of their grandmother's recipes. We were pleasantly surprised by a truly extensive Italian lunch. Served with passion and explained everything. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
