We have eaten at La Bottega di Volpaia on several occasions and are never disappointed. The service is wonderful, the food is delicious and the outdoor tables have the most beautiful view. We love it!

Showed up 15 minutes early and caught the most gorgeous sunset over the hills with the city glowing below. absolutely magical. The restaurant itself is warm and welcoming, with incredible Italian food and friendly service. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully done. A true hidden gem!

Excellent dinner in this restaurant with attentive waiters, very pleasant setting under the trees and above all delicious food with generous portions. The vegetables come from the restaurant's vegetable garden, and it shows. I recommend it!

I reluctantly have to give it 3 stars because, in such a charming and impressive location, I found several things that could be improved in my opinion.
1. The outdoor tables on the terrace are ridiculously uncomfortable, some even teetering on the edge, with iron chairs resting on grit that's incredibly uncomfortable and never really allows you to relax. This is absurd for such a popular and high-quality restaurant; it could be re-floored or at least leveled.
2. We ordered a Florentine steak. In the homeland of meat, Tuscany, I expected what I'm used to at other traditional trattorias, having eaten it several times before. We expected tender, melt-in-the-mouth meat... But unfortunately, despite the request to have it cooked Tuscan style, the meat was rather chewy, and, alas, even worse, cold! I understand the choice not to serve it on stone, since it shouldn't be cooked past the recommended time, but to serve it on a cold cutting board, with a waiter cutting it for you and obviously taking 10 minutes to do so, which causes it to lose what little heat it had. It means eating a very expensive slice of meat, which cost us €80, so quite a lot... but eating it cold!!! This took away all the flavor of the meat, and I don't think it's served like that in Tuscany... so I was very disappointed.
On the plus side, I can say that the peposo was quite good, that the side vegetables were truly zero-miles because the garden is practically next to the restaurant, which is a huge added value, and the staff was always very friendly and kind.

The taglitelle with truffle, veal cheeks, and tiramisu were very good. The terrace and outdoor area are beautiful and offer a great view. The service could be improved; ordering requires patience. Overall, we really enjoyed it.

We were there yesterday, Monday. The weather was thundery and the beautiful terrace was unfortunately closed. But we still got a nice seat in the Ristorante. Delicious ribollita to start. Accompanied by a fruity Trebbiano (okay, a Chianti Classico would perhaps be even more appropriate...) followed by wonderful ravioli fatta al casa 😋 and as a secondo a heavenly Peposo, both accompanied by a beautiful Chianti Classico di Volpaia. To top it off, semifreddo al amaretto, delicious. Cafe e Grappa…..perfetto. grace
