La Bottega Del Vino In Milano

My family and I visited La Bottega and had the most wonderful experience. We were a group of 10 and not only was the food amazing but the service was incredible. We ended up enjoying ourselves so much that we stayed up until they got ready to close for siesta/ dinner prep. The owner came over and chatted with us and let us know that although the kitchen would be closing, he would welcome us to stay until our wine tour we had scheduled for later that afternoon. One of the most memorable restaurants I've had the pleasure of visiting. Large parties should call ahead for reservations. Volpia was enchanting to say the least. If you're ever in Radda di Chianti it is a must visit!

Very nice place on the terrace... Carnival with a sense of welcome. Very nice menu with Tuscan specialties and affordable wines. Very good value for money. Mandatory reservation.

A gem of Chianti. In an authentic and wonderful place. The best truffle tagliatelle I've ever eaten. Exceptional service. We will come back for sure.

Price & quality unfortunately do not fit … but at least very friendly.

I took my family there, encouraged by the enthusiastic reviews, but was rather disappointed. You won't find an Italian soul here, it's more of a tourist restaurant, very decent, one might even say sophisticated. But we missed a smile from the waiter and a bit of authenticity. Sometimes it's also the little things, like giving olive oil to the bread with the meal, or a dog barking at children... And you wonder whether you really need to come to Volpai, if you can find such food in places where you don't have to travel long.

So close yet so far away. If you're not local, don't go here on a busy night (Saturday). The setting is 5 star, the food was pretty good, some dishes were cold, the service was just odd; we waited 15 minutes after we finished eating before someone collected our plates, nobody asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. 30 minutes later we left and the lady at the register asked why no coffee and dessert, we told her because nobody asked and she said that's because it was busy. They seemed to cater to people they knew or thought would be the best customers. It was my wife's birthday and I literally didn't care what I paid for the meal but it was only €89; 2 years ago for her birthday I paid €1200 in a similar, yet much more refined place in Venice. Michelin star in previous years, not since 2018 as best as I could see.

Beautiful place, great view, food nice but not something unique. Pretty expensive compared to other restaurants around. First time i see they ask for tip in italy.
