Attentive and prompt service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu was extensive and inviting. We chose a warm seafood appetizer, tortelli with turbot and bottarga, the legendary cacciucco (fish stew), and for dessert, meringue pie and pear and brandy sorbet. Everything was delicious, the fish was well-cooked. As for the cacciucco, which was otherwise very tasty, we would perhaps have preferred more boneless fish alongside the mussels, octopus tentacles, squid, and a lovely crustacean.

No, something's not right. At Barcarola, you can feel the super-quality seafood and the very essence of Livorno. An average of 4.2 reviews makes no sense. The raw seafood appetizer was Michelin-starred in quality, the first course (the Commander's) with a mind-blowing amount of fish and lobster (and truly top-quality pasta), the roasted snapper with oven-baked vegetables, perfectly cooked and incredibly fresh, and the light, creamy, freshly made tiramisu. To finish, the Livorno-style Ponche was executed to perfection. A full 5 stars, not just 4.2. Excellent dinner, superb quality, excellent service.

I wanted to eat the best caciucco in Livorno. I don't know if it was the best, but it was definitely fantastic!
A place with a simple entrance, a beautiful terrace with blooming bougainvillea, delicious food, impeccable service, and an excellent wine list. Perfect! You can't go wrong...
