It is a Historic place with a capital letter. Unfortunately, with completely affordable prices, it offers an impeccable menu, with a solid connection to tradition, without this word meaning "custom". Very fresh fish, simple and professional attention to detail in the kitchen. In Livorno a guarantee, caciucco like a "President"!

I really enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. First time in Livorno, I wanted to try cacciucco. La Barcarola is one of the most recommended places to savor this typical dish of Livorno cuisine. Expectations were not betrayed. Affordable prices and great courtesy, quiet and distinct environment. Advised.

Found it on Google, while looking for a restaurant that offered a good caciucco. Very happy choice. The service was fast and friendly, aided by the fact that it was a Tuesday lunchtime. The excellent caciucco. Really tasty. The price of €24 is competitive and extremely in line with the quality of the dish. My wife's mixed fish grill was also spectacular. Highly recommended.

A true and classic Italian ristorante with quality food, honest price and also good service. We ordered a primo each and a cacciucco for the two of us, we did well, because the portion was super large and delicious.
I want to emphasize that first I look at the recommendations and this restaurant had very good ones, so we went with high expectations and they did not disappoint us ⭐🍽️😋 in summary, my Italian husband and I recommend them 5/5.

5 stars because there aren't 6. The absolute best restaurant in Livorno for seafood dishes. It's hard to say what was good because everything is always spectacular. Last night I was enchanted by a first course of gurnard and bottarga, flavors I hadn't tasted in a long time, the sea in my mouth.

Era quarant’anni che non ci tornavo. All’inizio non riuscivo a trovarlo, perche’ si e’ spostato piu’ verso il centro. Accoglienza premurosa, una gradevole terrazza interna. Antipasto di mare sfizioso e vario. E poi sua maestà il cacciucco. Sublime. Saporito ma equilibrato, pesce e frutti di mare favolosi, un sughino da non perderne una goccia. Tutti i ristoranti di pesce della costa tirrenica dovrebbero mandare i loro lavoranti ad uno stage alla Barcarola per imparare la ricetta. Cacciucco superbamente innaffiato da un vinello rosso fresco e leggero, “Scorfano Rosso”. Ho finito questo pranzo favoloso con un buon sorbetto di melone e peperoncino. Esperienza favolosa.

Cibo curato e gradevole. La zona esterna retrostante è piacevole grazie alle pale a soffitto e alle piante. L'ingresso principale sulla strada non attira molto.
