A refined and highly regarded restaurant in the heart of Cetona, located beneath the medieval tower in the main square, ideal for a romantic dinner or a special evening. My husband and I are so passionate about Il Merlo that we chose it as the venue for our wedding reception. They were as helpful as they always have been over the years we've been dining there. Chef Elisa, Silvia in the dining room, and the entire staff are highly professional but also deeply sensitive. This is evident in the way they cook, serve, and address guests, and especially in the patience and helpfulness with which they supported us in planning our wedding. We couldn't have chosen a better location, a place that feels like family to us.

Dining at this restaurant was a wonderful experience!! Excellent service, a very charming venue located inside a medieval tower, and superlative quality food. We ordered porcini mushrooms as appetizers, Sicilian broccoli with almonds and stracciatella cheese. For main courses, we ordered sliced beef with baked potatoes and duck breast with grape sauce and potato millefeuille. For sides, we had spinach sautéed in garlic, oil, and chili pepper. Finally, desserts included dark chocolate tart and kebab with prickly pear jam. A vast selection of wines. Highly recommended.

The food is very good, traditional yet with unexpected flavors. Service is attentive and attentive, but never cold. The atmosphere is very charming and refined, making it suitable for both an elegant and casual meal.
