I would have rated this stay 6 stars if I could have. My husband and I stayed for the weekend and had the absolute best time. We came for the Christmas markets and got to take the cable car down from the hotel to town. It’s an easy walk to town from the cable car stop. Once we were good and cold we came back to enjoy the hot tub and the best dinner at the restaurant. The hotel staff are so kind. The rooms are beautiful with amazing views. The wine list is amazing, and they were very accommodating to our dog who was a last minute addition to the trip. We will be back for sure!

Perfect location with amazing views and easy to reach thanks to the cable car. An excellent note: the restaurant!!! All truly exquisite and of excellent quality. We will definitely be back!

It was our first time and certainly not the last time at the Hotel and Gasthof Kohlern. The location far above Bolzano allows for fantastic views day and night. All the employees are very warm, without it seeming artificial. The food was excellent with lots of local ingredients. The wine selection is consistent and of course local. SPA small but nice and sufficient and appropriate for the price category. Lots of loungers outside with a beautiful view of the valley. What would we do differently next time? Leave your car in the valley and use the included cable car!

We've been regularly taking a few days' short vacation in Kohlern for 15 years, which actually says it all: it's fantastic there, really unique and always worth a trip! Starting with the location: the house is in a fantastic location, quiet and idyllic, the view of the mountain panorama is breathtaking. The building has been lovingly renovated, preserving the historical charm as best as possible. Everything is so lovingly designed down to the smallest detail, the staff and the host family Schrott are all super friendly and attentive, you just feel very comfortable and welcome. The food is of gourmet quality, served in a stylish ambience, and the breakfast buffet is also of very high quality and varied. My husband in particular appreciates the extensive and selected wine list (as well as the wine tastings regularly offered to hotel visitors). Many thanks to the Schrott family and the whole team for allowing us to have such an unforgettable time at Kohlern again this time - we are already looking forward to our next visit!

A wonderfully run restaurant with great cuisine! When you arrive, the restaurant impresses you with its location and the fantastic view! You will receive a very friendly welcome in the restaurant. You immediately feel at home in these special rooms. The staff was really friendly and the boss also took the time to chat a bit. The food tasted very good! The smells alone were fantastic. The wine list is huge. Thank you for this lovely evening in a special atmosphere with the nice conversations! We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, we were only there for lunch. The hotel is in a fantastic location and you spontaneously feel like staying. The restaurant, its entire team and especially the kitchen are a great pleasure and offer dishes that are made with a lot of love and great craftsmanship! This is how (!) you cook a veal's head, Gröstl and Wiener Schnitzel, for example! Perfect. For me there is 10/10 points for the regional Tyrolean cuisine! 10/10 for the team 09/10 for the location... it's not around the corner but with a dream view

Ho deciso di festeggiare il mio compleanno presso il ristorante Kohlern. Abbiamo pranzato all'aperto nella bellissima cornice del giardino con vista panoramica sulle montagne e su Bolzano. Tutto molto bello: organizzazione impeccabile, cibo molto buono con menzione particolare per i ravioli di farina di pere con ripieno di ricotta di capra (particolari e davvero speciali), sig Schrott (proprietaro nonché regista) e camerieri attenti e disponibili ma nello stesso tempo discreti, così da permetterci di godere appieno dell'atmosfera del posto stando rilassati come in una festa casalinga. Un posto davvero speciale assolutamente consigliabile

Nos topamos con este Restaurante del Hotel mientras esperábamos el Funicular para regresar a Bolzano. La comida era excelente, el personal tan amable y mundano, hablando multitud de idiomas y las vistas impresionantes. Me gustaría mucho animar a una parada aquí para el strudel y un café y volver para un almuerzo o cena impresionante. Absolutamente vale la pena el viaje.
