Kohlern In Bolzano

We had a truly wonderful time staying at Gasthof Kohlern. The fresh, high-quality (often locally-sourced) food and the hospitality were our favorite parts. The waitstaff showed upmost professionalism but also a relaxed kindness that made us feel really at home. We hope to come back!

Five stars are not enough to rate this place. Staying there was an eleven-star experience! Everything in Gasthof Kohlern invites you to slowly appreciate the beauty of life: the natural environment, with an amazing view of the surrounding mountains; the cuisine, with delicious and refined dishes, the wines, the breakfasts; the simple elegance of the rooms; the peace and quiet; and last but not least, the generous and considerate kindness of the staff. Viele Dank: you make this place a perfect combination of charming and soothing.

We only visited the restaurant after a short autumn hike. The view was beautiful, and we also had a snack in a wonderful setting. Thank you very much!

A very, very nice and good hotel! Everything was just perfect here. I had a very nice room with a view of the mountains and Bolzano. The wellness area is also fantastic. The food in the restaurant is high-quality and tasteful. I will definitely return for a private stay sometime. The service is excellent.

The food was okay but nothing special, far too expensive for the lack of refinement. The service was extremely friendly, and the ambiance was very nice, but all of that still doesn't justify the price. No overnight guests, traveled as a couple.

Just arriving at this restaurant is worth the price of admission for its truly evocative beauty. The atmosphere is meticulously maintained, warm, intimate, and charming, especially in the evenings when it's almost entirely candlelit... the finest ingredients, which tell the story of an incredible region through its seasons, crafted with technique, taste, and grace. The service is wonderful, precise, and punctual... the wine list is incredible, extensive, deep, and highly refined, ranging from the vast selection of local and national wines to niche international selections. The wines themselves are then served (never banal) in exquisitely crafted glasses, varying in type based on the wine served, a hallmark of total attention to service... the owner is exquisite, thorough, and highly charismatic, assisted by very professional and elegant staff. Wonderful!!!

We've stayed there several times over the years with our dog for a few days. A truly beautifully situated inn with a very special atmosphere, service, and cuisine.
