It's one of my favorite places, whether you stay downstairs with a self-service tray or upstairs in the restaurant. The food is high quality, from the sandwiches to the traditional dishes. The deli and shop are also a plus, so you can buy groceries before heading out.

A fine and tried-and-tested restaurant-shop formula, just like other restaurants. Here, it's paired with the historic "ROMANI" brand, a well-known and renowned delicatessen in Parma. You'll find various typical products to purchase or sample, as well as niche products such as Parmigiano Reggiano, prosciutto, cured meats, wines...and more, from the Parma and Italian traditions. There's a dining area on the ground floor with sandwiches, salads, or "quicker" self-service dishes, or, upstairs, a table-service restaurant offering traditional dishes with some variations and reinterpretations. The wine list is good, always featuring high-quality and typically Italian selections. The atmosphere is well-kept, clean, and elegant, in keeping with the restaurant's style. The only flaw, hence the 4-star rating, is the poor ventilation and ventilation on the restaurant floor, likely due to the attractive "open kitchen." Unfortunately, clothes suffer, especially in winter... Prices are in line with the products and quality; they're not fast food; the self-service options on the ground floor are cheaper. The friendly and attentive staff offers and recommends typical or daily specials, along with any pairings. Highly recommended!!!

A1 motorway towards Rome. There's an 11-km traffic jam due to an accident in Parma. We exit at Fidenza and meet up for lunch with our son Alberto's family. Our Christmas Eve begins. Tagliatelle with ragù and tigella. Polenta and gorgonzola. And red wine. Then that evening, for dinner at our son Francesco's house in Rome, he tells us he knows RistoBottaga Emiliana, because when he's away for Lazio or for the Tattoos, they stop there to eat.
