Confusing experience. The food was just okay, nothing amazing. The ingredients in the menu were often not listed according to amount, and in some dishes there was missing ingredients or major ingredients not mentioned. For example I ordered a shrimp pasta with spicy peppers, but there were no peppers and the shrimp was a tartar which wasn’t mentioned in the menu. I found myself unpleasantly surprised a few times.

We had a fantastic 4 course dinner here, even the vegetarian. Every course was delicious and expertly presented. In particular the dessert with the sweetcorn cream was something special and unexpected. Service was really friendly, and I felt very welcome to ask questions and for wine recommendations. Very deserving of its Michelin guide entry.

My favorite place in Florence! A welcoming atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, capable of combining professionalism and warmth (including a very welcome surprise candle and dessert). Each dish is a small experience, explained with passion and accompanied by perfect pairings. That extra touch that makes an evening truly special.

We had the pleasure of dining at Io Osteria Personale, and from start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and offered the freedom to choose any table, setting the tone for a relaxed and personalized dining experience. One of the standout aspects of the evening was the staff's knowledge and assistance in pairing the perfect wines to complement our meal. Their recommendations enhanced each dish, with the octopus being particularly memorable—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Opting for the five-course tasting menu, we were not disappointed. Every dish was creative and delicious, offering a refreshing departure from the usual pizza and pasta. The diversity of flavors and attention to detail in each course truly showcased the chef’s talents. To top it off, the staff went above and beyond by helping us arrange a taxi back to our hotel, making the entire evening seamless and stress-free. In short, Io Osteria Personale provided a unique and delightful dining experience that we totally recommend to anyone looking for a break from the traditional Italian fare. This restaurant is certainly worth a visit.

Super inventive menu, very honest, well cooked, fresh ingredients, absolutely impeccable service (waiter was so nice! 😊 ) and a dessert I wont forget (crema di mais). I will come back for sure! Congratulations to the whole team!

Incredible modern Italian cuisine with a Japanese twist. If you’re tired of eating at the same trattoria and up for some adventure, I suggest trying this place. It’s been on the Michelin guide, but the food tastes like a Michelin restaurant.
