Exaggerated brunch.
Two of us went for brunch on a Sunday morning. We start with a roundup of desserts, and then move on to many savory ones. We liked the sweets, not particularly the savory ones. Too many courses that lead you to eat so much that you feel sick or leave food there.

È stato tutto perfetto... È proprio vero che non si pranza o cena solamente ma si vive un'esperienza enogastronomica. Soprattutto, percepisci il senso di accoglienza e l'amore per il cibo e per la ristorazione nell'accezione più ampia, etimologica della parola stessa.

Dishes designed and executed to convey the pleasure of good things done well. Among the traditional suggestions is the classic veal cheek braised in red wine, impeccable for its softness and flavour. The ravioli from plin to the roast seasoned with their sauce and a wonderful boned quail with black cherry with foie gras and white chocolate, a true delicacy in which consistencies, flavours, temperatures and cooking testify to being in the hands of a professional who knows above all how to respect the material first and the spirit of the places, interpreting for himself the meaning of the word hospitality. Accurate and kind room and service, very comfortable wine list, very pleasant bread and leavened desserts.

WOW! Was hier alles auf den Tisch gezaubert wird. Es ist zwar kein Sterne-Lokal aber die Speisen kommen ähnlich daher. Sie sind sehr fein und geschmacklich interessant. Man soll sich beim Essen Zeit nehmen, die Gerichte sind ziemlich deftig, am Schluss des Menues ist man mehr als satt :-)

A unique experience and worth trying at least once!
My partner took me to Io e Luna as a birthday surprise, none of us knew the place so we opted for an aperitif thinking "let's see if we should have dinner or not".
Well what can I say, actually the whole restaurant is very well looked after, classy, with a spectacular view of the hills. The terrace must be magnificent in the summer, but the veranda part does not cover the viewpoint, given that one wall is made up only of windows (and it is very well heated, not too hot or cold).
Let me start by saying that the waiting times are a bit long but guys, it's not a pizzeria, all the dishes are perfectly designed and prepared with care and attention by Chef Davide Odore, who welcomed us at the entrance.
The maitre Giacoma followed us throughout the entire journey, with a kindness more than rare, also offering us precious advice on the choice.
Before describing the dishes I must absolutely mention the leavened products tasted, soft, tasty, not at all heavy. Do you know the classic basket of bread that they bring you to every restaurant and you eat "out of boredom" before the courses? At Io e Luna you can absolutely consider it as a course because it is delicious, both the bread and the focaccia and let's not talk about the corn breadsticks!
The aperitif included a slice of savory panettone with "green bath" butter and a plate of savory pastries: a kiss of checkers/sandwich with mortadella cream, a "friciula" with cream and salmon (excellent), a cheesecake with courgette cream and a kind of savory tart with Russian salad. Telling you "everything was very good" means diminishing the actual goodness of the dishes, they were fabulous!
As a first course, I chose the risotto with porcini mushrooms and cheeses - but not even grandma's is so creamy and balanced - while my partner chose a plate of plin with meat sauce. Now as a Piedmontese I have eaten a thousand versions of plin, but never so good. I swear, the sauce was so good that the pasta was shiny, everything tasty but not heavy.
For dessert, my partner took the classic brick, while I took the Sacher; it's my favorite cake and in restaurants they always get it wrong (chocolate mappazzona with jam put in the middle ☹️). This was comparable to that of the Hotel Sacher (I was there last year, a real experience!).
In addition we received a small plate with various samples of sweet pastries and a slice of sweet panettone, I know you will get tired of reading that it was all excellent, but you can't say otherwise!
To drink we opted for a Roero and at the end of the meal some Moscato, perfect, the best Moscato I've tasted!
They also have many takeaway products, at Christmas I will definitely not miss their artisan panettone and I already intend to return to bring friends who always ask me for advice on "restaurant with a view where you can eat well near Alba". Here you are satisfied!
But how wonderful it would be to be able to eat Io e Luna's dishes every day!
P.S. from the terrace you can see the wonderful, well-kept and impressive vegetable garden, certified for the freshness of the products!
