In the centre of Florence we found this gem and couldn’t be more excited. We ordered a couple of mains and a dessert and they were yuuuuuuuuum .
We had Tofu and saffron rice , lasagna and chocolate tart.
Food was fresh , potion size generous and tasted incredible.
Service was good . With very little Italian I could manage , staff were kind to help me to choose dishes based on what my preference was.

After reading reviews, we went out of our way to find this signature vegetarian dining experience. We especially enjoyed the lasagna and the rigatoni. Both dishes were large enough for us to share. Fortunately, we took the advice of others and saved room for dessert, something we don't often do. We had 2 splendid items that were perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. I was so pleased with the last flavors of tart fruit with spiced crumb crust. This is the way to end a meal and not leave feeling overwhelmed by sweetness. Beyond the food, the atmosphere has an appreciatively organic feel with furniture and structure that had a reclaimed sensibility. It is worth noting that Il Vegetariano is filled with repeat locals who understand the ordering system. Make sure to plan to go with the flow. The staff will take good care of you and are happy to answer questions. Enjoy this hearty, tasty, whole food experience.

We ate here yesterday and were very satisfied.
We hadn't been to this restaurant before and unfortunately hadn't made a reservation; otherwise, we definitely would have reserved a table in the garden.
First of all, I'd like to mention that things are a bit different here than in other restaurants.
You get a pad and pen with your table number and write down everything you want (food and drinks), and then you pay for everything at the register.
You then hand the order pad to the person opposite you, and then you can go back to your table.
The menu has a QR code, so you can read it in English.
My girlfriend had some questions about the menu, which were all answered very competently.
The food was truly fantastic and the best vegetarian meal we had in all of Florence.
Additional information:
1. There is no air conditioning, or rather, it wasn't working.
2. Very fair and unbeatable prices.
Anyone who isn't put off by the refreshingly different ordering process should definitely visit this restaurant.

The storefront is unassuming. Neither is the first room you walk through… but what an incredible discovery! A hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the island, and a home-style cuisine bursting with flavor and served in very generous portions! I'll definitely be back.

Authentic vegetarian food in an informal atmosphere, with very generous portions and a wide variety of desserts.
Great place with very good food (although simple but not in a bad way). The staff was very nice and spoke English. Vegan options clearly labeled. The place was rather empty and mostly quiet (on a Sunday evening)

Tomato Soups - not a regular hot tomato soup you get in any restaurant. This is vegan soup, cold blend of veggies and tomatoes. Brilliant and excellent taste
Salad bar - loved it. Just mix of steamed or raw veggies, pick your choice. Absolutely awesome
Never tasted such good tomatoes any where
If you are from India, this restaurant is Satvik style. Though they do have options of few cheese cakes, but 90% of items here are Satvik
