I hadn't been there since 2010. I was passing through La Spezia and wanted to go back with some old friends of mine even though there are many competitive places in the city now. Well, I have to say that it's still number one both for food (I ate panigacci and meat) but above all for prices. Top.

We went to Vecchio Mulino in Sarzana and I have to say we had a truly wonderful time. We had a table of 28 people, a number that would overwhelm many restaurants, but everything went off without a hitch.
The staff was absolutely top-notch: fast, well-coordinated, and very attentive, which is not a given when there are so many of you. Despite the large group, the dishes arrived hot and without endless waits (with dishes placed at the center of the table).
There's not much to say about the food; the sgabei are excellent, as are the cured meats, and the first courses are fully in keeping with local tradition. As for the meat, it was possible to cook it more gently using a brazier that was brought to the table.
The quality-price ratio was excellent, although the prices have increased slightly compared to a few years ago. If you're planning a group dinner in Sarzana and want to play it safe, this is the place. We'll definitely be back!

There's not much to say about this historic restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, and the food, in my opinion, is top-quality, especially the fillet steak with Gorgonzola, which is something special. I highly recommend the 1kg beef steak, served on a wooden tray with all the side dishes—simply special!
Book early in the week because weekends are likely to be full!
I'll keep coming and I'll keep sending people to eat there. You're good people and hard workers, thank you for the service you provide every time!

A truly welcoming place, with good food and professional staff. I give the atmosphere a low rating because of the parking lot, which is completely unpaved, and since we were there on a rainy evening, we left covered in mud.

The food wasn't great, the staff wasn't very friendly, and be careful about ordering a medium-rare steak: it was cold from the refrigerator inside. Terrible experience.

A go-to for family lunches and dinners with friends or business meetings for years now. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the menu offers typical local cuisine, with generous portions. The panigacci with a variety of cured meats and cheeses are delicious. The ravioli with ragù and the testaroli with pesto are simply exquisite. The grilled meats are also very good. Excellent value for money. Congratulations!
