IL VECCHIO BORGO In Como

We booked the room not knowing quite what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised! We mostly booked for the location, which is perfect. Easy access to the train station and the ferry piers. We booked a double room with a lake view and we were not disappointed. The room was bigger than we expected and very clean. The bathroom is on the small side but was very clean as well. At check in we were greeted by Suzy, she was very kind and checked us in efficiently. Suzy helped carry the luggage to the room which is up 2 flights of stairs. The rooms are located directly behind check in and where breakfast is served. We booked a room with breakfast and were very happy with our decision. Even with the central location, the room was very quiet. Many choices including fresh cooked omelettes. There are usually two ladies working breakfast and both were very kind and helpful. If we return to Como we would definitely book this hotel again.

Great little hotel right on the lake...my room (single room) was a bit small but everything you needed was there...free minibar and with coffee maker and kettle...well equipped...breakfast great...you can Also book a parking space...(recommended)...everything is great..

Well-located house right on the lake, close to the old town of Como and the promenade and restaurant mile on the lake promenade is directly opposite. The rooms on the first floor with a lake view are well-equipped and modern. The breakfast was very good and the service was very friendly. The house can be described more as a bed and breakfast. The small, quiet Como Lago train station is right next door and in front of the hotel there is a large roundabout with quite a bit of traffic (but you can't hear it in the room). We were there out of season, so it was convenient for Como and the perfect solution for our stopover on the way to Tuscany.
