giving tourists a more expensive menu in english is kind of a rude thing to do but the food was really good and the staff was really nice too ! But no menu for drinks and then discovering a 250ml coke costs 10 euros... litteraly. yeah nah

Hmmm. It is quite good. I think it is due to it's history they continue to attract people. Maybe also through hotels. We were all internationals (us Swiss/Swedish) quite a few americans... We went for wild boar ragu (very good), beef filet, milanese veal risotto. I never quite know how to write this. But. Wine by the glass we felt cheated on. We asked for some red and white by the glass to pair with the meals. All decent, not amazing, but nice atmosphere and OK food. However, turns out there is no price list and they will always give you the 1dl 20-25 EUR per glass wine. I love my champagne, lobster and beef and always make the most when travelling outside of Switzerland. But dislike when people think they can take advantage of you.
Very delicious food! The service was top-notch – a rare find! I'd be happy to go back, but with the same waiter.

A really elegant and well-kept restaurant. The service is excellent, the waiters are very attentive to detail. I really liked the dishes. I found the portions adequate. The prices are definitely a bit high but it's worth it.

The waiter was hectic and not particularly friendly. He brought us wine glasses but forgot the wine. It was a bit crowded on the terrace. The appetizer was excellent, but too expensive. All the dishes were sloppily served. The ice cream (two scoops of pistachio) was too expensive at €12. My main course wasn't hot. But because everything tasted good, and there was plenty of bread and olive oil, I'm giving it 4 stars.

By way of introduction, let’s address the obvious right away: yes, this restaurant is probably a bit more expensive than many others you might find in Milan. That said, once that’s out of the way, you have to admit that quality is present at every level! The food is delicious, beautifully presented, the service is efficient and strikes that perfect balance of attentiveness and friendliness you often find in small Italian restaurants. The portions aren’t huge, but if you go for an antipasto, a slightly more substantial primo, and a dessert, you’ll leave more than satisfied (even more if you add a glass of Pinot grigio to the mix)

Ristorante Solferino is fine dining at its best. A very elegant pastel-coloured room, with large tables set far enough apart so that no one is forced to overhear the conversations of others.
Because our sitting was for 7.30, we started with our aperitivi - a Campari Spritz for me, a Negroni for Jug. These were accompanied by a test tube full of slightly salted hazelnuts for each of us, with a bread platter. We always love the dark bread here and the homemade grissini.
For our dinner we shared a fillet of Fassona, with a wodge of Foie Gras on top, and generous shavings of white truffle.
At Solferino they pride themselves on the quality and preparation of the beef and, pointedly, do not provide steak knives. Rightly so, because the meat is tender enough to cut with a regular table knife.
We shared a mixed salad, and enjoyed a bottle of I Tre Vescovi Barbera d'Asti DOCG - one of our favourite wines.
We said no to dolci, but they brought us some delicious biscotti anyway - we had half and half of each type just to taste.
A very nice dinner it was.
Expensive, yes. But one doesn't go to Il Solferino every day.
