An unexpected stop after a pleasant hike on Mount Etna, at this restaurant where we had lunch. The place is pleasant and the staff friendly. We had an appetizer of sautéed porcini mushrooms, frozen as the waiter told us since it's summer, but locally sourced. It was a generous dish that we shared, and not bad considering they were frozen. A first course of tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, just to keep with the theme, and a risotto with zucchini flowers, porcini mushrooms, and shrimp, accompanied by a glass of a good chilled Grillo. It's not the perfect pairing, but the desire for something cold overcame the choice of a red. A pleasant experience featuring simple dishes for a total of €65.

On our first evening, we searched for a restaurant on TripAdvisor, and this one was highly rated. It was fine, but very touristy. Not recommended for a taste of Italian atmosphere, but the food was excellent.

Recommended by a friend, and I must say, it's a great place to eat. They seated us in 5 minutes, and took our order in another 5. We chose the CHEF'S SELECTION OF COOKED AND CRÉDI (€30). I've included a photo of the raw dish, all authentic. We devoured the cooked selection (there was caponata, caramelized onion, parmigiana, frittatina, zucchini rolls, and more—I must say, everything was excellent). Then we ordered a Mixed Roast (6 pieces), which I must say was super generous for two people, and everything was excellent. I've attached the photo. For drinks, we had a medium lager and a large Lete. We paid €67. In conclusion, both my wife and I are satisfied. Welcoming staff. It's a shame the view isn't at all spectacular; we decided to eat outside, which was great. Inside, I saw the dining room was very beautiful and everything was very clean. Just to be objective and honest, the bathrooms, although very clean, had an unpleasant smell coming from the pipes. This needs to be addressed, especially since after the excellent smells and flavors of the food, I had to go to the bathroom with a stuffy nose—the only slight disappointment. I WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS! If you want to eat well and be respected on the bill, this is a place to choose! We'll definitely try the pizzas, too; they looked very inviting!

I would like to thank the staff at Hosteria Il Porcino for the wonderful evening. We ate really well, the raw materials were of very high quality, the staff were competent and friendly, the service was impeccable, and the wine selection was excellent. No faults, they were really good, we will be back.
