Today I had lunch at this restaurant. The food was excellent, I'm exaggerating. In my opinion, it's among the best I've ever had in Salento. It was a wonderful experience, and I'll definitely repeat it.

An evening spent with dear friends: we enjoyed an appetizer and an excellent risotto. Everything was truly excellent, from the food to the service, which was always attentive and competent. I highly recommend it!

A well-maintained, well-maintained venue. The dishes are delicately prepared and impeccably presented. It's a great place for all types of lunches and dinners. I highly recommend at least a look inside. The staff is attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. I would happily return.

Beautiful location in a typical Salento square. Friendly but distracted staff. Excellent and well-paired appetizers. The first courses were disappointing. The spaghetti with sea urchin was completely tasteless. The menu was very varied but the prices were too Milanese. The Gallipoli pink prawns were 9 euros each. At first, we thought it was the main course, but when we asked how many pieces were included, we were told 9 euros each (I understand that the price depends on availability, but it would have been better to recommend something else). The idea is that of a Salento-style tourist trap. It's a shame, because the foundation is there to do better.

Enchanting location, dining in a wonderful and characteristic Salento square. The wait staff is highly competent and the kitchen service is very fast. I would have expected to spend more for two people, but instead it was €93 for one appetizer, two first courses, and one second course, with one bottle of wine worth €20. It all depends on what you eat and, above all, what you drink. Overall, a super positive experience.

07/01/2026: We come here quite often when we're on vacation, because we find simple traditional dishes, cooked just like you'd eat at grandma's house! The homey atmosphere is what we like! The ciciri e tria and the orecchiette with turnip tops are excellent!
30/12/2025: 5 well-deserved stars, excellent quality home-made food, a special mention goes to the Sagne, truly very good!

31/10/2025: A seafood restaurant that's nothing short of spectacular! The food at Vergari is truly excellent: everything is carefully thought out, from the welcome to the dishes to the atmosphere. We ordered mixed fried fish, which was good but a little dry in some places—no big deal, because the flavor was excellent and the quality of the fish was evident. Then we ordered two seafood centerpieces: one very large and generous, designed for two people (but easily enough for two hungry people!), and another for one, also beautifully presented and delicious. The dishes were generous, served with care and using the freshest ingredients. You can tell there's passion and attention to quality behind them. The service was perfect, truly top-notch: the staff were kind, professional, and always attentive to every need, without ever being intrusive. The restaurant's design also deserves special mention—modern, refined, elegant, yet welcoming. As for the prices, I have to say they're fair, especially considering the location: we're in San Foca, a tourist area where prices are often higher, but here the quality-price ratio is truly excellent. In conclusion, I give Ristorante Vergari a full 5 stars: a place where you can eat the freshest, highest-quality fish, with impeccable service, a beautiful location, and fair prices.
