Our first dinner in Rome and it did not disappoint. This is a must try. Everything was on point. One of the best bites of the trip was the mashed tomatoe antipasto.

Excellent drinks and food, the staff is friendly but could be better. Highly recommended if you have an American Express card. Making a reservation can be complicated, especially for tourists, as it can disrupt your plans if you don't have enough time.

I booked and they seemed to be strict about the time. I showed up thirty minutes late due to traffic and parking (normal for Rome). They welcomed me with the utmost kindness, everyone who works there always serves you kindly, I had a really good time. Good food. The place was busy. Well done. The price isn't cheap but it's in line with a high-end restaurant in Rome. I will gladly return.

Highly recommend! This was by far the best dinner we had during our stay in Rome. The staff were amazing. The food was fantastic! I would recommend to everyone I know and hope to come back soon!

Il Marchese was one of the highlights of our time in Rome. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices were surprisingly affordable for the quality on offer. The pasta was by far the best we had in Rome, with the Pasta alla Gricia being particularly outstanding. The restaurant is also in a beautiful location right by the river, making for a great dining experience all round.

A very refined, elegant venue with great customer service. The service was professional, and the atmosphere was certainly pleasant. That said, there were a few aspects that didn't entirely convince me. During lunch, we witnessed a situation that left us a bit perplexed: a staff member (the bartender) seemed to be paying very insistent attention to a customer sitting alone, offering her drinks and constantly seeking interaction. These are, of course, personal matters that don't concern us, but since we were seated very close together, the situation was quite noticeable and ended up distracting from the overall experience. As for the food, it was good and well-presented, but I personally didn't find it sufficiently different to fully justify the price compared to other excellent osterias and restaurants in the area with lower prices. It feels like a significant portion of the bill is tied to the experience, service, and fine dining atmosphere. Overall, it was a good experience, but I'm still not sure if I'd return.

The bread is heated on a griddle until it's perfectly crispy on the outside and fragrant, while inside you'll find carefully selected, top-quality ingredients. It's our favorite place when we get hungry late at night: those sandwiches truly transform a snack into a moment of pure happiness. Preparation takes a few extra minutes, but you immediately understand why: each sandwich is made with care, and the end result is well worth the wait. If you love well-made sandwiches, this place is a must-visit! The Best 👍🏼🩷

L'Osteria della Trippa

13/05/2026: I visited L'Osteria della Trippa in Trastevere, and I must say the experience left me with mixed feelings, even though overall I ate really well. The place has the atmosphere of a modern Roman osteria, well-maintained but not overly formal. As soon as you enter, you immediately notice the attention to traditional cuisine, featuring typical Roman dishes prepared just right. I had a carbonara and Roman-style tripe: the carbonara was creamy, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients, while the tripe was definitely the highlight, tender and well-seasoned. The supplì were also very good. The portions are generous, and you can taste the cuisine's uncompromising focus on tradition. The service was friendly and fairly quick, though a bit rushed at times. The place was packed, and you could feel the lively atmosphere typical of Roman trattorias. However, a few details did put me off: the tables were very basic, with no tablecloths or placemats, and the prices were slightly above average for an osteria. A carbonara at those prices inevitably raises very high expectations. Overall, however, the quality of the food is evident, and I understand why it's so highly recommended by so many Roman cuisine enthusiasts. It's not your typical, basic, cheap trattoria: you pay a little more here, but the food is good, made with top-quality ingredients. I'd return, especially for the tripe and the authentic Trastevere atmosphere.
