We had a truly memorable dinner at Il Guazzetto in Monopoli. From start to finish, everything was beautifully prepared and thoughtfully presented. We began with the octopus carpaccio — thinly sliced, incredibly tender, and full of fresh, clean flavors. It set the perfect tone for what followed.
Next, we enjoyed the seafood pasta with zucchini flowers, which was a real highlight. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the seafood generous and fresh, and the zucchini flowers added a subtle sweetness that tied the dish together wonderfully. We also tried the cuzzecchije pasta — a rustic local specialty — which had a satisfying handmade texture and a rich, comforting sauce that felt authentically Pugliese.
We paired our meal with a crisp local Sauvignon wine, which brought out the best in the seafood dishes without overpowering them. To finish, the tiramisu was light, creamy, and delicately balanced — a sweet end to a superb meal.
The atmosphere was relaxed but refined, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The location, tucked into the heart of Monopoli’s charming old town, made the whole evening feel extra special. Highly recommended for anyone seeking fresh, honest seafood with local character and warm hospitality.

As always, I knew I was on the safe side. There was no doubt about the quality, professionalism and attention to detail. My daughter's communion lunch was impeccable, and the greatest satisfaction was seeing the guests enthusiastic. Fresh seafood, place recommended by a local. Good flavours, the swordfish pasta with cheese was quite a special pick — recommend. The portion for the mixed grilled fish was also very generous and good value for money. Tiramisu on the creamier side. Servers were very nice and friendly but attentiveness can be improved.

"A culinary experience to remember: Il Guazzetto in Monopoli"
During our stay in Monopoli, we chose Il Guazzetto guided by the excellent reviews on - TripAdvisor and Google - and we can confirm that every expectation was exceeded.
We were welcomed with great courtesy by the restaurant manager Fabio, who initially placed us inside. When my partner started to feel cold due to the dehumidifier and we asked to move outside, Fabio immediately accommodated us with professionalism and availability, making us feel our needs were listened to and respected.
Gabriele, an attentive, knowledgeable and always present person with courtesy, followed us to our table. We started with a fragrant mussel sauté, and then let ourselves be tempted by an off-menu dish: spaghetti with clams and lemon "Mariodd", with a delicate and fresh taste, perfectly executed. On Gabriele's suggestion we accompanied the dinner with two glasses of Negroamaro rosé, an absolutely perfect choice.
But the real moment of ecstasy came with the desserts, authentic works of art. In particular, the Pistachio Dome on almond crumble with exotic sauce left us speechless. A dessert signed by the famous Francesco Urbano, master pastry chef of the Atelier della Pasticceria, known for his ability to combine refined technique and bold creativity in every creation. A dessert that is not only good, but exciting, capable of telling a story through flavors and textures.
Alongside this, we also tasted the mou semifreddo with peanut brittle and garlic: surprising, balanced and so good that we immediately ordered a second one!
At the end of the meal, Gabriele kindly let us taste their artisanal rosolio: limoncello, pistachio and licorice — three little pearls of taste that ended the evening in style.
In conclusion, Il Guazzetto is a restaurant that combines great cuisine, impeccable service and a rare attention to the customer experience. A place that leaves its mark, where you gladly return and that deserves to be talked about.

Scelto per una cena di lavoro non ha deluso le aspettative. Tutto davvero all’altezza con grandi apprezzamenti da parte dei colleghi che venivano da altre regioni. Dagli antipasti con un ottimo crudo di mare, ai primi ben composti, dolci e selezione di vini. Prezzo nella media.
