Very nice restaurant in the center of Bardolino with outdoor seating too. The staff are very friendly, attentive, fast and smiling. Well-prepared dishes with interesting contrasts. The desserts are also excellent! Good wine list! Definitely worth a stop!

Bardolino is splendid but very touristy, especially in season and it is difficult to find a truly special restaurant.
Difficult, but not impossible given that there is one that is worth ten; it is the Garden of the Hesperides. In fact, both the cuisine and the wine list are of a very high standard, the welcome is warm and it was a great pleasure to talk about wine and catering with Susy, sommelier and restaurant manager, who does this job with enormous passion and competence.
Together with her in the living room Mary and Anna in the kitchen, an all-female trio in perfect harmony.
The name of the place is inspired by a mythological garden of the goddess Hera guarded by the Hesperides nymphs, where there was a golden apple tree protected by a dragon. Collecting them was one of Hercules' 12 labors but don't worry, no dragons here and the nymphs will accompany you on a superlative food and wine experience.
We advise you to do the tasting itineraries; Two are offered, one on land and one on the lake and we obviously tried them both!
What we ate:
Ricotta and borage ravioli with duck breast carpaccio, spices and ginger
Savory cheesecake with taralli, marinated vegetables and peanuts
Lake fish fritters, green olives, fennel and gazpacho
Egg spaghetti with lake fish, dark greens and lemon zest
Roasted pork belly with rhubarb and colored ribs
Lake fish fillet with panzanella and vegetables
As for wine, we were directed towards a splendid Falanghina dei Campi Flegrei Vigna del Pino di Agnanum, a company owned by Raffaele Moccia, a heroic producer who works on unstable terraces built on volcanic hills. A phenomenal wine, which continually evolves while maintaining a crazy balance.

Tasting menu or 2 or 3 course menu.
Unobtainable dish: partridge.

Sophisticated, refined and very welcoming environment. Good quality gastronomic experience. Excellent choice of wines. Courteous staff. It's a shame you can't eat à la carte but there is a two-course requirement.

The quality of the food definitely deserves 5 stars, at least the starter and dessert were world class. The corridors in between could have used a little more pep. The service is impeccable. However, since I'm still hungry with a menu for 60 euros, it's 1 point below 5 stars.
Overall good, but not totally thrilled considering the total price (over £80 per person).

I can say it's a treat! The attention to the customer is very high from all the staff, the food from quality to presentation is excellent, the environment is refined and evocative. Excellent wine list: we tasted an excellent classic Chianti. The must? The sweets! Made with love and excellent technique, they bring you to the conclusion of an excellent food and wine journey! Highly recommended!
